Fly over the infamous volcano Eyjafjallajökull and view its crater and surrounding glacier tongues. This tour is for those who want to see Iceland from a whole new perspective. Swooping over the landscapes, you'll take in the sights from a point of view the buses below simply cannot replicate.

You will see the beautiful area of Þórsmörk and the surrounding glacier tongues from the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers, before you continue towards the colourful area of Jökulgil and Landmannalaugar. Finally, you'll fly over Eldgjá canyon that is situated between Landmannalaugar and Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

Landmannalaugar is a place of stunning beauty in the Fjallabak highland reserve. It is one of Iceland's most sought out hiking destinations where visitors from across the globe enjoy wide-open vistas, scenic trails and colourful rhyolite mountains. The entire area was formed by a volcanic eruption in the 13th century and is marked by geothermal hot springs.

270 m (856 ft) deep and 600 m wide, Eldgjá, or Fire Canyon, is the largest volcanic canyon in the world. The first documented eruption in Eldgjá, in 934 AD, remains one of the largest eruptions in historic times with the areal extent of the lava covering over 800 km2.

An estimated 18 km3 of magma poured out of the earth in this eruption. Inside the canyon is the beautiful waterfall Ófærufoss that you'll see before heading east and south of Myrdalsjökull glacier and over Dyrhólaey on the way back to Bakki airport.
