Description

Explore Iceland's most iconic natural wonders by taking a private tour of the Golden Circle. If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure in Iceland, book this tour now.

This tour appeals most to nature enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone who wants to experience the incredible natural beauty of Iceland up close. With a private driver/guide, you'll have the opportunity to customize your itinerary and spend as much time as you want at each location.

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your Reykjavik accommodation, where you'll be greeted by your knowledgeable driver/guide. From there, you'll make your way to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the location of the first Icelandic parliament in 930 AD.

Here, a stunning geological landscape intersects with a thousand years of captivating history. You will see where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates diverge, creating a rift valley and stunning landscapes, and you'll learn about the history that took place in Thingvellir.

Next, you'll visit Geysir geothermal area, the ultimate showcase of Mother Nature's explosive power. You'll walk around where the world-famous geysers, Geysir and Strokkur, are located.

As you might have noticed, all geysers draw their name from Geysir, the first geyser to be documented in Europe. While Geysir has one in a million chance of erupting, its little neighbor, Strokkur, which reliably erupts every few minutes, will put on a show for you.

You will then head to Gullfoss, known as the "Golden Waterfall." This stunning waterfall is one of Iceland's most impressive natural wonders, with water cascading down two tiers into a rugged canyon.

You'll have plenty of time to explore the area and take in the breathtaking views. Gullfoss is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland, and for good reason - the beauty of the cascading water is breathtaking.

Finally, you'll visit the volcanic crater lake at Kerid, a turquoise-blue lake surrounded by steep walls. This unique and beautiful spot provides an excellent opportunity for photos and a chance to immerse yourself in the peaceful surroundings.

As your journey comes to an end, you'll be transported back to Reykjavik and dropped off at your accommodation. Throughout the tour, your driver/guide will share fascinating insights about Iceland's history, culture, and natural wonders.

This tour is perfect for families, couples, or groups of friends who want to explore the best of Iceland in a comfortable and personalized way. You will stop at every location with plenty of time for photos, snacks, and simply enjoying the view.

Day 1 - Private Golden Circle Tour

Thingvellir National Park

Thingvellir is the biggest national park in Iceland with many historic and geological interests. You will see where the Eurasian plate meets the North American plate (continents meet) and learn about the history that took place in Thingvellir.

Geysir, Haukadalur

We’ll walk around the geothermal area where the world famous geyers, Geysir and Strokkur live. As you might have noticed, all geysers draw their name from Geysir, the first geyser to be documented in Europe. Geysir can sometimes be a bit moody about erupting but his little brother, Strokkur, will definitely put on a show for you.

Gullfoss Waterfall

Gullfoss waterfall is the largest waterfall in Europe by volume. It’s possible to see it from a distance up high but also to walk up close for that picture of a lifetime.

Kerid Crater

Kerid crater is believed to be 6500 years old and the remnants of a volcano which stood there long ago. We’ll be able to walk down to the bottom of the crater where a shallow lake has formed amid the volcanic rock. The view from the brim of the crater is also a sigh to see.
