Evening mountain bike and hot springs tour
Ride through the beautiful lava fields of Reykjadalur and bask in the beautiful hot springs near Hverigerði on this incredible cycling tour. Suitable for people of all abilities, this tour is the perfect combination of adrenaline and relaxation.
You will be picked up from your Reykjavík accommodation from 16:30 in a Super Jeep; you can be guaranteed a small group, as there is a maximum of six people on this tour, so your journey will be personal and comfortable.
After a forty minute drive, you will reach the Reykjadalur hot spring trail, where a single track rolls through beautiful lava fields and geothermal areas. Your guide will introduce you to your mountain bike, provide you with a helmet, and tell you briefly about safety; once that is over with, the adventure can begin.
The single, natural trail winds through some stunning landscapes, which you are invited to stop and photograph. It is immersed in the nature, so rolls up and down the contours of the earth, making for some exhilarating rushes.
Halfway into the journey, you will reach a beautiful river, heated by the water running from surrounding hot springs. Basking here is incredibly relaxing, and the experience even better for the mountains and steaming pools surrounding you at all angles. Make sure that you don’t forget your bathing suit or towel.
Following your dip into these serene waters, you will mount up again and continue your adventure. This wider, man-made track will take you all the way to the geothermal hotspot town of Hverigerði, where you will stop for a welcome snack and cup of coffee.
The Super Jeep will meet you and your group here, and whisk you back to Reykjavík. This tour lasts for four and half hours; you will, therefore, be back in time for a good rest so you can be fresh for any plans the next day.
So jump aboard, and come for a mountain biking and hot springs adventure you will never forget. Check availability by choosing a date.
