Enjoy a fantastic afternoon horseback riding through the quintessential landscapes of North Iceland, with the added bonus of both a local special cuisine and a relaxing hot bath to end the day.

Your tour begins with a picturesque 15-minute drive from Iceland's northern capital, Akureyri, to your destination for the day at the stables.

Here, you will meet your friendly and certified horse riding guide who will proceed to provide you with a safety briefing, a rundown of the basic principles of horse riding and all of the necessary equipment. When you are ready, it's time to head out to the yard to have your designated horse chosen by the guides.

Then it's out onto the trail! You will savour the breath-taking sights of North Iceland while your horse trots though sweeping meadows and canyons. Don't worry too much about getting lost—you'll be in convoy with other riders and, besides, your horse knows where it is going. You will be horseback riding for an hour and a half, even trotting along the seashore and up into the surrounding hills.

After the horseback riding section of the tour, a two-course dinner awaits your arrival at an amazing countryside restaurant. Here, the menus are served with the local’s organic produce, ensuring a fresh, delicious and authentically Icelandic meal.

After you have grabbed some tasty grub, the night can be spent in one of two ways. You can enjoy a relaxing bath in a hot tub coupled with a panoramic view of the surroundings or, alternatively, take a leisurely stroll on the beach while enjoying the sea breeze.

Don't delay any longer! Hurry now and you too can enjoy a horse ride in North Iceland with the promise of a warm meal and soak afterwards. Check availability by choosing a date.

The highlight of this 'tour' was actually the dinner. The horse riding was fine, but it was basically just a loop around the property. Nothing terribly interesting or scenic. The 'hot springs' was a concrete hot tub that did have a nice view but wasn't special in many ways. The dinner however was fantastic! From the bread to the entree to the dessert, it was one of the best meals I had in Iceland. The service was excellent too.
