Join this tour for a chance to view the unforgettable Northern Lights, one of the most popular activities in Iceland, for locals and visitors alike. This stunning experience has helped to make Iceland one of the hottest travel destinations in the world, during the coldest months of the year.

You’ll be picked up at your accommodation in Akureyri and the small group size of no more than eight guests guarantees your comfort and the special attention of your guide. Together, you’ll make your way to the countryside surrounding Akureyri, away from the noise and the light-pollution of the city.

Northern Lights hunting is such a valued way to spend your time that there is a daily forecast letting everyone know when and where sightings are most likely, to maximize your chances of seeing the sky splashed with brilliant colours of blue, pink and green as the stars twinkle overhead.

You’ll be kept cosy while you explore the skies for the best spots, as it may take a while the find what you seek. Your tour guides will keep your tummies warm with hot chocolate and the famous Icelandic 'kleina' pastry while you watch. Dress warmly and wear thick socks, as your feet will likely get cold in the snow and ice!

Every day, your tour provider will decide if it is a good night to go hunting. They ask that you call them on the day you are booked on to see if the tour is scheduled. If you are unlucky and do not see the Northern Lights on the night of your tour, you will have another chance to take the tour for free!

The Northern Lights are one of the most tricky and unpredictable natural phenomena on earth, making each sighting a rare and wondrous thing. Your tour guides will do all they can to ensure success, and if the atmospheric conditions are not favourable for the duration of your stay in Iceland, you will receive a full refund.
