Frequently asked questions

What equipment should I pack for an adventure holiday in Iceland?

As a general rule, you will need warm, water- and windproof clothing and sturdy hiking boots with ankle support for most activities in Iceland. Must-haves include warm headgear that protects the ears, waterproof gloves, windproof overpants and warm wool socks. If you don't have these items already, you can of course buy them either at the airport on arrival or at the many winter clothes stores in the Reykjavik city centre.
In the "What to Bring" section of each package description, all additional specifications are listed, although specialized equipment is usually provided for you.

Where do I go on adventure holidays in Iceland?

Adventure holidays are a broad category in which you will find options that take you to all of Iceland's regions. From the black sand beaches of Iceland's South Coast to the dramatic lava fields of North Iceland. From the rugged fjords of East Iceland to the fantastic glaciers of West Iceland. Whether it's ice caving, glacier hiking, dog sledding, snowmobiling or snorkeling and so much more, there's no shortage of adventurous activities to engage in.

Is accommodation included in adventure holidays in Iceland?

Accommodation arrangements of the adventure holidays packages in Iceland depend on the length and nature of the package. Many include accommodation throughout the whole trip, while some only include accommodation outside of Reykjavik. The details of each package are listed in the "Quick Facts" section.

Do adventure holidays in Iceland run in winter?

Yes, adventure holidays run in both seasons, with seasonal activities for you to enjoy. Some activities are only available during the winter such as ice caving, dog sledding and aurora hunting. When going on an adventure holiday in Iceland during the winter, just make sure to pack plenty of warm clothes!
