Full Day South Coast Tour | Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss & Reynisfjara

Come see some of the fairest landscapes in Iceland belonging to the sun-dappled South Coast. The attractions you will be seeing include the iconic Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, Vík Village and Reynisfjara volcanic beach, among others, on this day tour perfect for any nature-loving sightseers visiting Iceland.  Seljalandsfoss is one of Iceland's highest waterfalls, at 63 m (197 ft). The waterfall is a charming interlude in the rocky, rolling countryside, and includes a path right up to the waterfall, behind it, and out the other side. Feel the spray on your face as you venture in. The next waterfall, Skógafoss, is one of the largest waterfalls in the country, with a width of 25 m (82 ft) and a drop of 60 m (200 ft). Due to the amount of spray the waterfall produces, a single or even double rainbow is often on display when it's sunny. The picturesque village of Vík then gives you a place to buy souvenirs, refuel with a cool drink or a snack and practice your Icelandic with the locals. A short distance from the village is Reynisfjara beach, full of volcanic stones worn smooth by the water and black sand pounded by the surf. Have your picture taken in front of Garðar, the basalt columns which characterise the cliffs. Listen to the waves crash against the shore and the spectacularly shaped basalt sea stacks called Reynisdrangar out in the ocean. You'll find the beach teeming with birdlife nesting on the cliffs and wheeling through the sky. On the way back to the city, we will pass through lush farmlands with the sheep and horses that make Icelanders so proud. Your tour guide will share some of the fascinating histories of the region on your return, highlighting the wind-swept Icelandic countryside. Don't miss out on this popular jaunt to Iceland's most thrilling natural attractions belonging to the South Coast. Check availability by choosing a date.

In Akureyri, you will meet a local guide at the airport, who will take you directly to the Lake Mývatn area. This itinerary also includes some downtime in Reykjavík and time to enjoy the best of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, often named 'Iceland in miniature' due to its diverse natural attractions. On your route, you'll visit all three National Parks of Iceland, and you'll want to have plenty of time to enjoy each one, so on this holiday you'll never feel rushed, especially as it never gets fully dark and you can use the lingering days to explore long into the nighttime. As you are behind the wheel, you are in control of how long you stay at each attraction, but by spending two nights in the same accommodation, you can fully explore the area surrounding you. Instead of rushing through each part of Iceland and only skimming the surface of available attractions you'll have both two nights on the Golden Circle, as well as two nights on the South Coast. To help you make the most of each location, there are optional add-on tours in each area, as diverse as glacier hiking and exploring ice caves, to relaxing in modern spa retreats. Other options include exploring the depths of Iceland's volcanic lava caves, whale and bird watching, snorkelling between continents or pumping up your adrenaline on a snowmobile drive across a glacier! All of these come at a discounted price if you book them now. Don't wait any longer and book this 8-day in-depth tour of west and south Iceland now! Check availability by choosing a date.

Golden Circle and the South Coast in 1 Day |Small Group Comfort 4x4 SUV Tours

Travel in comfort and style to enjoy the popular Golden Circle and the stunning South Coast. We will show you many of the magnificent sceneries of the Icelandic landscape. Only small groups with a local driver-guide in a comfortable 4x4 SUV, modifyed for the Icelandic conditions.  Max 4-6 passengers in each SUV.  The Golden Circle: The first destination of this trip is the historical Þingvellir National Park with its geological wonders. This is the place where the Viking settlers established what is now the world's longest-running parliament. Þingvellir is located between the North American and Euro-asian tectonic plates. The edges are clearly visible and marked by deep cracks in the ground on both sides of the valley. The area is also noted for its birch forests, ravines, lava landscapes and crystal-clear water from under-ground rivers. After Þingvellir, we drive to the Geysir Geothermal area. This colourful, hilly landscape is broken with steaming and spouting hot springs. Strokkur blows boiling water high in the air every five minutes. Gullfoss is one of the country's most known waterfall. It cascades in 3 steps in to a deep canyon. While most tours end here, we now have plenty of sites left along the beautiful South Coast. The South Coast:  Seljalandsfoss is a tall waterfall that you can walk behind while Skógafoss is a massive, wide waterfall and throws off a huge cloud of spray in the air. These waterfalls sit in the shadow of the notorious sub-glacial volcano Eyjafjallajökull. On a clear day we can enjoy the beauty of the white Glaciers Mýrdalsjökull, Sólheimajökull and Eyjafjallajökull as we drive further along the South Coast. We now have majestic cliffs and many small waterfalls on one side and the coast on the other side. We finish the day with the spectacular Black Beach.  Dyrhólaey is a set of cliffs with a mighty rock arch that becomes the home to thousands of puffins in summer, whereas Reynisfjara Black Beach known for the sea-stacks called Reynisdrangar and amazing hexagonal rock formations and caves. On our way back we can now enjoy the view of the Glaciers, cliffs and waterfalls of the South Coast and now from the other direction. Don't miss an opportunity to combine two essential sight-seeing tours in this one-day tour of comfort. Check availability by choosing a date.

Waterfalls, Glacier & Black Sand Beach | South Coast Day Tour

Come along on this fun-filled day trip to the South Coast of Iceland. On this affordable tour, you’ll get to see the stark contrasts of the Icelandic nature by visiting magnificent waterfalls, mighty glaciers and a stunning black sand beach. This tour is perfect for all those who wish to discover Iceland’s mesmerising landscapes.  You’ll start your adventure in the morning when you are picked up in Reykjavík and whisked away to the first stop of the day, the tiny town of Hvolsvöllur. As you stretch your legs at Hvolsvöllur, you can see the great glacier volcano Eyjafjallajökull looming over you in the distance.  If the weather is clear, you might see all the way to the first attraction of the day, the unique waterfall Seljalandsfoss. This high and narrow cascade falls down a concaved cliff, creating a green oasis behind the curtain of water in which you can enter for a one-of-a-kind view of the surrounding landscape.  From the free-falling waterfall, you’ll visit the icy wonderland of Sólheimajökull glacier. There, you’ll get to walk right up to the millennia-old ice, blackened by ash from past eruptions from nearby volcanoes. If you look close, you might catch a glimpse of the electric blue ice underneath the white snow and black ash.  You will then travel further east, making your way to the village of Vík. You’ll stop for lunch at this picturesque town which overlooks a striking coastline of jet-black sand, dark basalt column cliffs, and unusual rock formations.  This black sand beach near Vík is your next stop. The famous Reynisfjara beach is edged in by dramatic cliffs of hexagonal columns, and out of the ocean rise the 66-metre high Reynisdrangar rock pillars, resembling trolls that have been turned into rocks by the sunlight. Before you head back to Reykjavík, you’ll make one last stop at the majestic Skógafoss waterfall. This cascade is one of the biggest in Iceland, hurling water from the Skógá river down 60 metres, creating a perpetual mist at the bottom. On sunny days, you might see a double rainbow forming at the bottom of the waterfall.  Get to know the spectacular South Coast with this immersive day tour. Don’t miss your opportunity and book now. Those who want to mix their winter-time in Iceland with both sightseeing and adventure, while cutting on costs, should not miss this opportunity. This combo consists of two tours, which will bring you to many famous sites and all three of Iceland’s National Parks. On the 3-day south coast tour, you will get to explore the Golden Circle, South Coast and the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon; you also get to embark on a glacier hike and an ice caving adventure. On the day tour to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, you will see majestic waterfalls, stretches of dark lava fields and a mighty glacier.  During the 3-day tour to the south coast, you will be staying in country hotels along the trip for 2 nights, which are included in the price. Of course, winter is also the season of the Northern Lights. There will be many hours of darkness each day, and whenever there is no cloud cover, you have a chance of seeing them. This is only amplified when you are staying out in the country, where there is little light pollution. Make the most of your time in Iceland throughout winter, without breaking the bank. There, you'll get a real sense of how powerful the Icelandic nature can be as you watch freezing glacial water from the river Hvítá plunge down 32 metres into an ancient canyon.  You'll have plenty time to take in this majestic waterfall and walk around to the falls' many viewing platforms to see this beautiful cascade from different angles. Shortly after, you will visit the Geysir area where you can stroll through this geothermal wonderland and see the hot spring Strokkur erupt every few minutes, shooting boiling water many metres in the air. Make sure to keep your camera on hand, so you don't miss the geyser go off.  Before returning to Reykjavík, you will be treated to a stop at Faxi waterfall, where you can marvel at this hidden gem which is located in the tranquil countryside. Perhaps your expert guide will even tell you ghost story from this area. Who knows?  Throughout the day, you will get the opportunity to take a look at and learn about the Icelandic horse, a unique and vital creature to Iceland's development. There might also be bonus stops and photo opportunities along the way. Each tour is unique and aims to leave all guests with the best possible memories of Iceland. 9-Hour Day Tour to Seljalandsfoss & Thorsmork Valley

Step right up for this tour of one of the most beautiful, untouched wilds of Iceland, the valley of Þórsmörk. Your tour guides will pick you up in a comfortable Super Jeep in the morning and take you to this popular hiker’s retreat, on a perfect day tour in the land of ice and fire. The first stop of the day will bring you to Seljalandsfoss, a gorgeous waterfall nestled in the cliffs of rolling farmland, nourished by the river which meanders away from the falls. At 60 m (131 ft) high, it is one of the tallest waterfalls in Iceland, and it is a particularly unique spot because you can take the rocky path which winds behind the falls. It is a new perspective to look out on the green-and-black terrain of Iceland through the curtain of clear, misty water. You’ll also pause at Gígjökull, a glacial tongue of Eyjafjallajökull, the glacier which made headlines in 2010 with its colossal eruption. It lies draped over the mountainous outcroppings of the valley like a fluffy white blanket. Then, you’ll go to Stakkholtsgjá, a canyon located near the entrance to Þórsmörk valley. It has a narrow riverbed and ends in a beautiful waterfall. Finally, after driving over several deep, swift glacial rivers, you’ll enter the Þórsmörk area. This rift valley, named after the Norse god of thunder and rain, Thor, is located in southern Iceland between two glaciers, Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull. There are many trails to explore here, from those that cross the glaciers to multi-day hiking trails such as Laugavegur, which takes hikers all the way to Landmannalaugar in southwest Iceland. Here, you’ll have time to take in the gorgeous surroundings as you hike in the area, with stops available at the visitor’s huts at Básar and Húsadalur. These huts are airy and well-kept, providing a charming spot to stop and chat with other hikers you meet along the way. After a refreshing walk around the countryside, you’ll be driven back to the city in time to have dinner, a few drinks and maybe catch a show. Don't miss this invigorating day trip to the beautiful valley of Þórsmörk. Check availability by choosing a date.

The Golden Circle & Fontana Geothermal Baths | Sightseeing & Hot Springs

Come along for a tour of the finest sites in Iceland, along with a luxurious soak in the warm waters of Laugarvatn Fontana Spa & Wellness Center. Traverse the famous Golden Circle, with three of the most well-known sites in Icelandic history and culture: Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area, and Þingvellir National Park. Gullfoss is one of the most powerful waterfalls in all of Europe, where huge quantities of water rush over the two-tiered falls and down into the gorge below. Geysir geothermal area is another natural wonder, full of bubbling mud pots, steaming vents and geysers which explode regularly, flinging scalding water high into the air. The most active, Strokkur erupts every 10 minutes, sending water as high as 40 m (131 feet). Last is Þingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the world’s first parliament was founded in 930 AD. The Vikings who came here to participate in the politics of the day looked out on these same rifts, walked the gorge between the two tectonic plates, and gazed at the silvery waters of the nearby rivers and fissures which reach deep in the earth. Relax in the natural geothermal baths at Laugarvatn Fontana Spa & Wellness Center after such a thorough tour of the Golden Circle. After exploring so much of the South Coast, Laugarvatn Fontana Spa is the perfect way to relax and revitalise both body and mind. For almost a century, locals in the community of Laugarvatn have been enjoying the healing powers of natural steam from a geothermal field at the edge of the lake. Built over this geothermal area, the Laugarvatn Fontana Spa & Wellness Center features geothermal steam rooms, hot pools and outdoor mineral baths and a fantastic view over the lake. If you are there in the evening and conditions are just right, you may be able to enjoy the Technicolor dreamscape of the Northern Lights as you relax. At Laugarvatn Fontana Spa & Wellness Center you will also find Fontana Café that offers a nice selection of healthy and locally produced delicacies and refreshments. The menu also includes soup of the day and trout from the lake which is a great idea for those that just want to enjoy the facilities without going to the baths. Dettifoss Waterfall & Asbyrgi Canyon Tour from Akureyri

Join this tour to explore the beautiful Diamond Circle and see some of the most secluded locations in northern Iceland. Nature lovers should not miss out on seeing magnificent waterfalls, serene lakes, and majestic canyons on this tour. You'll be picked up in the town of Akureyri in the North, and driven to your first location; the incredible Goðafoss waterfall. This incredibly wide fall's name means 'the waterfall of the gods.' It was here in 1000 AD Iceland began to convert to Christianity.  You will then travel to Lake Mývatn, an incredibly picturesque body of water in the heart of volcanic land. There will be time for some sightseeing and photos before heading to Europe's most powerful waterfall, Dettifoss. This majestic cascade is 100 metres (328 ft) wide and plunges down 45 metres (150 ft) to the beautiful Jökulsárgljúfur canyon.  From there you'll move on to another waterfall, Selfoss. Although smaller, this cascade is no less spectacular, where the water flows over black volcanic rocks down into a deep basin. Next up you'll get to explore the impressive Ásbyrgi canyon, one of Iceland's most beloved natural attractions. This stunning canyon is shaped like a horseshoe and is surrounded by cliffs reaching as high as 100 m (328 ft).  Inside the canyon is a gorgeous valley, and hidden between the high, green grass and tall fir trees is Botnstjörn, a beautiful lake which many waterbirds call home. Though we now know that Ásbyrgi was likely formed by glacial flooding after the last Ice Age, local legend holds that this is the footprint of Óðinn’s eight-legged horse, Sleipnir. If road conditions are favourable, you'll also be able to visit Hljóðaklettar, or 'echo cave'. This cave, inaccessible during the harsh winter months, is formed by a peculiar clustering of basalt columns, which have twisted over and around each other to form a hollow in the rock. Its acoustics are something to experience. In springtime, you can visit Tjörnes, where hundreds of puffins and rock ptarmigans nest. After the tour, there will be a short coffee stop at the quaint village Húsavík before returning to Akureyri. Don't miss out on this journey to discover the remote northwest! Check availability by choosing a date.

The trail takes you to the abandoned farm of Kleif, and soon after you will catch sight of the lowest of the waterfalls.  Those of you who are brave at heart can try your hand at winching themselves across the Jökulsá river in a renovated traditional cableway cart. These kind of carts were a vital mode of transportation across the river before road improvements made the remote farms more accessible, particularly in winter.  As you walk along the glacier river, the beautiful falls begin to appear one after the other. As you continue, you will follow a marked trail through the woods of native birch.  At last, the hike will take you to Laugarfell Highland Hostel. Once you reach the hostel, you can take a relaxing bath in an outside pool of warm geothermal spring water. Don't miss out on this chance to experience the East Iceland wilderness at it's very best.  Check availability by choosing a date.

This 10-12 hour tour, operated on well-equipped super-jeeps will sure be a highlight of any visit to Iceland. You'll be in the company of trained guides throughout your journey, and have access to free wifi and charging stations, so there is no need to worry that your batty will run out from all the photography.  We pick up in Reykjavík in the morning. Then we head to Hvalfjörður fjord which is just outside Reykjavik. There we'll travel the wavy roads and canyons of this quiet and calm countryside. After that, we drive through Skorradalur valley, where many locals choose to spend the summers in their personal summer huts.  Next, we head to the beautiful and tranquil Borgarfjörður and see Deildartunguhver, the highest outflowing hot spring in Europe. The water from the hot spring is piped to nearby towns, Akranes and Borgarnes. Reykholt is our next destination, where the renowned poet and writer Snorri Sturluson lived and worked in Reykholt during the Middle Ages. He is famous for writing many of the Icelandic Sagas, and the Eddas - the books of the Gods. Then, there is an excellent photo-op at the waterfalls Hraunfossar and Barnafossar. These waterfalls are unique because they are made out of a thousand tiny waterfalls that run into the river Hvítá. Now to the peak of our adventure! We will head to the Langjökull glacier,  the second largest glacier in Iceland, rising between 1200-1300 m above sea level. There, we will go into man-made ice tunnels, an extraordinary experience to see the glacier from inside. That doesn´t happen every day! You don´t have to worry about the cold since you can get protective clothes and crampons. A guide will take you through these ice caves and tunnels, providing valuable information and you can take great photos in the rare light that proceeds from the glacier.  After this unique experience, we will stop at Húsafell where you will enjoy an inviting buffet – you´ll probably be hungry after this adventure! Before we head back to Reykjavík for the evening, we´ll take a look at the historical church in Húsafell which has an exciting story. Reykjanes and Floinn | The Hidden Southern Gems Tour

Join us on a unique and memorable trip to a hidden part of Iceland, in a comfortable minibus. Guests on this tour will experience a rural adventure with rivers, mountain view, a waterfall, lava-fields, a hot spring and birdlife. A full day packed with extraordinary places that Iceland has to offer. There are quite a few artisans in the area as you will see in the workshops as well as farm lodgings, country boutiques, and so much more.   Depending on what suits your needs the best, you can either select a pickup place of your choice or come to our office where the tour departures from at 9 am every morning.  Leaving the capital, we head east towards our first stop, Urriðafoss, Iceland’s largest waterfall concerning water quantity. The waterfall belongs to Þjórsá, Iceland's longest river, around 230 km long. Next stop on this tour is at a charming museum of wood and artistic craftsmanship, called Tré og List, which is full of beautiful pieces made by the local farmer.   After stopping at this artisan museum, the next stop is at the Old Icelandic Farmhouses. There, guests can step into an old turf house and learn about sustainable architecture from many years ago.    From there we'll head to Strandakirkja, a rural church located a stone's throw from the beach, where the bitterly cold sea meets harsh volcanic rocks and black sand. This church is located on the South Coast of Iceland, in Selvogur.    Driving even further out on the Reykjanes peninsula, the next stop is at Krísuvíkurbjarg, stunning black cliffs. Here, thousands of seabirds nest. You can hike along the trail to the edge of the cliffs where it's possible to spot kittiwakes, guillemots, razorbills, and other birds as they dive into the sea. Close by is our next stop, Seltangar. Seltangar is a fishing settlement which was abandoned in 1880. There, an assortment of crude stone foundations for huts and storehouses can be seen. Former residents claimed they were chased out by a ghost named "Tumi."   Now we are headed out to the second last stop on this tour, Krísuvík; a geothermal area where you can take a walk between the boiling mud puddles and smell the sulfates  The last stop is then at nearby Kleifarvatn lake, which is nestled below a steep mountain. The seemingly deserted space is an attractive spot for a quiet walk over small black lava rocks.   In the evening, we will head back to the centre of Reykjavík where our day together ends. Make sure you don’t miss the change to see the places that not everyone visits. Check availability by choosing a date.

Minibus tour of the Golden Circle | Explore Iceland's Best Known Attractions

Come and explore the Golden Circle in a comfortable minibus. This minibus tour gives you the chance to experience some of Iceland´s most magnificent attractions in a small group with highly qualified guides. This is one of the most visited and popular bus routes in Iceland. You can choose to meet us at our office close to the Reykjavík Harbour, or opt for a pick up from the nearest downtown pick up point to your hotel, all based on your convenience. Then it is time to head out and explore. The first stop is at Þingvellir National Park, where Althing, the old Parliament of Iceland, was located. Here, the boundaries of the Eurasian and North American plates, which run through Iceland, are clearly visible. The plates are moving apart here, and the land between them is subsiding. From Þingvellir we head along the mountains to the world-renowned geothermal hot spring area around Geysir. Although the original Geysir is not active at the moment, its neighbour, Strokkur, spouts boiling hot water, every 5 or 10 minutes, between 20-40 m away from the ground.  After leaving the Geysir Geothermal area, the tour is headed towards Gullfoss. Gullfoss means the Golden waterfall, and you will not be disappointed there. A two-tier waterfall of 11 and 22-meter height respectively, it's one of Iceland's most impressive glacial waterfalls. On a sunny day, a rainbow will be likely to show up, and you can make wishes that might even come true! Leaving this great waterfall, the next stop is a beautiful and dynamic waterfall, Faxi waterfall. Just above the waterfall is a common sheepfold and right next to the waterfall you can find some cool salmon ladder.  Closing the circle, we stop at Kerið, a circular crater lake. This crater is a nicely shaped pseudo crater formed some 5,000 years ago, with a deep lake in the bottom which is dark blue in colour.  It is one of the most visited places on the southwest of Iceland.  Afterwards, we'll head back to Reykjavík after the adventures of the day. Come and see the greatest attractions of Iceland on this minibus tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
