Come join us for a magical day on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, perfect for all travelling sightseers. Your expert Super Jeep driver will pick you up in Reykjavík and whisk you off to all the sites that make Iceland so unique, including black sand beaches and volcanic landscapes.

The mythical Snæfellsjökull glacier is the setting for Jules Verne's novel, 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth'. It is also a glacier-capped stratovolcano, which looms over the whole of Snæfellsnes peninsula. The glacier is said to hold immense magical powers, giving off intense energy to those who visit the area.

Besides the stunning glacier, the peninsula also sports amazing bird cliffs, golden, pink and black beaches, beautiful rhyolite mountains, and both volcanic and pseudo-craters.

The basalt stacks and bird cliffs at Arnarstapi village are absolutely stunning, and should not be missed. In good weather, the hike between Arnarstapi and Hellnar is not only refreshing after sitting in the car so long, but also incredibly beautiful. Walk along the black beach, with pebbles and black sand beneath your feet.

If you want to do even more hiking, or if you skipped the walk between Arnarstapi and Hellnar, you should ask your guide to stop by Saxhóll crater. The short walk to the top of it is easily made, and the view from up there is stunning! You will see all the way around the edge of the peninsula, over to the glacier and, on good-weather days, even all the way across the ocean to Reykjavík.

At the Snæfellsnes peninsula, there are small fishing villages spread out all over, to give you a good glimpse into traditional, Icelandic life. Fishing and seafaring used to be the main source of food and industrial income for the country, until just recently. Fishing is still the source of most jobs in these small fishing villages around the island.

Along the west side of the peninsula, you will find Mt. Kirkjufell. This mountain is one of the most photographed locations in Iceland, and rightfully so. It spikes up into the air like a giant shark fin, and in a certain light, it may even look like it is on fire.

This is a long day of sightseeing, so make sure to bring your camera, and even some extra batteries! Join us on Snæfellsnes Peninsula for a day of wonder. Check availability by choosing a date.
