Kayak on a glacier lagoon before visiting two of the South Coast's most renowned waterfalls on this fantastic day tour. Explore incredible scenery as you paddle your way between the ever-changing icebergs floating in the lagoon near Sólheimajökull glacier. Those looking for a fun and unique way to spice up their Icelandic holiday need to look no further.

From Reykjavík, you'll be taken out to the beautiful South Coast of Iceland. On board the bus is an audio-guide in ten languages as well as a wifi connection along with a personal host, ready to assist you in any way and ensure that you have the experience of a lifetime.

Your first stop is by the glacier tongue Sólheimajökull, which is a part of the larger Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. Here, you will learn about various glacial features of the Icelandic landscape, and the impact man is having on the environment, as well as learning the ropes on how to operate a kayak.

The stable sit-on-top kayaks require no prior skill, and the basic technique is very easy to pick up. They do, however, provide you with the rare opportunity to experience the awesome beauty of glaciers from a completely unique perspective that few other visitors are lucky enough to enjoy.

Back on dry land, you will be driven along southern Iceland's coastal lowlands with its iconic black sand beaches that stretch out for miles. The first stop is at Skógafoss, one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, plunging from a height of 60 meters. There's an old, local myth claiming that hidden behind the falls is a chest filled with gold. For a glorious panoramic view of the surrounding scenery, hike the stairway to the east of the fall.

The next and final stop is the impressive Seljalandsfoss waterfall behind which you can actually walk. After exhilarating nature experiences, your tour concludes around dinner time when you're dropped off at your accommodation.

Immerse yourself in the stunning glacial landscapes of Iceland with this fantastic kayak tour. Check availability by choosing a date.

Good to know:

The weather changes quickly in Iceland, so don't be caught unawares. It is always better to bring a sweater or dress in layers which you can remove if you are too warm. (Jeans are not recommended because denim, once wet, will spread moisture and take a long time to dry, leaving the wearer extremely cold!)
