Explore many of the natural gems that bejewel Iceland’s beloved South Coast with this semi-private super jeep adventure. With a maximum capacity of six people, this is a personalised and immersive way to explore this incredible region.

This tour begins when you are picked up in the morning by your friendly, experienced guide, before being whisked to the South Coast.

En route to your first stops, you will travel through some beautiful landscapes of idyllic countryside and barren lava, and in clear weather, you will be able to see the Westman Islands off the coast, and the notorious subglacial volcano Eyjafjallajökull.

Your first destination is a waterfall fed by the meltwater of this glacier, Seljalandsfoss. This feature tumbles off of a concave cliff, which in summer means you can take a spectacular walk all the way behind it.

Just a short way from here is a much lesser known waterfall, Gljúfrabúi, which is hidden in a secretive gorge and overlooked on most South Coast tours.

Next, you will see Skógafoss, a third waterfall that matches those before it in beauty but exceeds both in power. You can approach the great spray of water here, and ascend an adjacent staircase for some unique and fascinating angles.

Following your walk, you will head to the glacial outlet Sólheimajökull, a tongue of the great Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. This is a fascinating feature, streaked with veins of black ash from past volcanic eruptions, and accented with electric blue ice.

Finally, you will go to the village of Vík Í Mýrdal, a quaint and historic settlement, and here head to the adjacent beach. This stretch of coast, Reynisfjara, is renowned for its stunning black sands and its dramatic rock formations.

You will take the journey home through the beautiful Hellisheiði geothermal area; if there is time, you will make a very last stop at the little-visited Urriðafoss waterfall.
