Drangjökull is the northern most glacier in Iceland, found in the Westfjords.
Atop Drangjökull, you'll find yourself in an entirely new world—an ethereal, frozen paradise.

Explore the northernmost Icelandic glacier, Drangajökull, on this exciting adventure tour. Hike up Mount Hrolleifsborg for a fantastic view of the surrounding Westfjords. This tour is perfect for those travelling in the beautiful Icelandic Westfjords and want to add a challenging adventure to their holiday.

You’ll start your journey early in the morning in the town of Ísafjörður. With a population of 2,600, Ísafjörður is the largest settlement on the Westfjord peninsula. You and your fellow travellers will be picked up by two superjeep vehicles and driven to the glacier area south of the town. Your well-trained travel guide driver will select the safest route, depending on snow and weather conditions.

You will be driven to the North-East of Drangajökull glacier where the majestic Hrolleifsborg peak lies. Drangajökull glacier is the only glacier in Iceland which lies entirely below an altitude of 1000 metres and so a hike up its peak is relatively easy. You will not be disappointed by the picturesque view of the Westfjords when you reach the summit.

When you’ve descended the glacier, you will be driven to a small hotel on the Westfjord's Reykjanes peninsula for an evening of rest and relaxation. You’ll get a chance to have dinner at the hotel before and take a dip in their famous outdoor swimming pool.

The hotel is quite remote and so there is little light and noise pollution. You’ll get to enjoy the geothermal waters surrounded by unspoilt nature. The pool is naturally heated and warm all year round, so you can enjoy it no matter how cold it is outside.

After soaking in this mineral-rich pool and unwinding after a day of walking and hiking, you will head back to your accommodation in Ísafjörður town, arriving around midnight.

Don’t let this amazing adventure slip you by. Check availability by choosing a date.
