Immerse yourself in the Lake Mývatn area with this four-day package, centred around a husky ride. Relax in luxury, let everyone else take care of the arrangements, and enjoy the sites of Iceland’s north in the depths of its winter.

You will arrive at the Vogafjós Resort, the beautiful, rustic guesthouse you will be staying at, and check in; after that, what order you do what is on your itinerary is entirely up to you.

This package guarantees you will get a dogsled tour with a team of Siberian Huskies, a Super Jeep tour of your choice, admission into the Mývatn Nature Baths, a Mývatn sightseeing tour, and three two-course dinners during your stay. You will even get picked up and dropped off at Akureyri airport if required.

Of course, the Huskies are the highlight of this tour; not only is meeting them a pleasure, but the ride they will give you for two hours through Iceland’s winter scenery will be incredibly exhilarating. It will also be very personal; each dogsled holds only two people alongside the musher.

There is a list of Super Jeep tours you can add to your stay, one of which is included in the price. The options are to see the mighty waterfalls of the North, to walk along a row of magnificent craters, to visit the notorious volcano Mount Krafla, or to hunt for the Northern Lights.

The sightseeing tour that is also included will take you to the most notable sites of the region. As Mývatn is located in the centre of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the geology is spectacular and has created many of the area's impressive features. These include the Dimmuborgir lava fortress and the geothermal region of Hverir. You will also get the chance to see authentic shooting locations of the HBO series Game of Thrones.

Enjoy Mývatn without stress, doing what you want to do, by booking this exciting winter package. Check availability by choosing a date.

Daily itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival

En route to the northern region of Mývatn from Reykjavík, you can divert from the Ring Road to admire the Hvítserkur monolith.

On day one, you will arrive at your cosy, rustic accommodation near Lake Mývatn. Depending on the amount of time you have, you may wish to take a Super Jeep tour, a Husky ride, or to simply unwind after your travels in the Mývatn Nature Baths. Finish the day with a two course meal.

Day 2 - Full day at Myvatn

Mývatn is an area of geological wonder, but right nearby, at Námaskarð pass, you can find many geothermal marvels.

On day two, the choice is yours as to what to do; you could explore the Mývatn area on a sightseeing tour, board a Super Jeep and see an awesome, little-known place, take your husky ride, or wile away the hours in the Mývatn Nature Baths. Enjoy another two course meal in the evening.

Day 3 - Second full day at Myvatn

It is possible to visit Dettifoss - Europe's most powerful waterfall - in summer and winter from Lake Mývatn.

Today is the same as yesterday; what you do is up to you entirely. You have a wealth of options, but no matter what you do, a lovely meal awaits you in the evening.

Day 4 - Departure

There are many incredible and lesser travelled sites throughout the rural parts of North Iceland.

Today, you can catch up on any of the included components of this package, before departing from the North to enjoy the rest of your holiday.
