Join this exciting day tour to explore the Golden Circle before experiencing the thrill of diving in Silfra fissure.
Start the day by visiting the active geothermal area of Geysir, where Strokkur geyser erupts every 5 to 7 minutes, and the majestic Gullfoss waterfall, the most photographed waterfall in Iceland. Other stops on the day include the Kerið crater and the Hveragerði geothermal village, as well as some lesser-known attractions.
In the afternoon, you will visit Thingvellir National Park. Once you reach the park, your driver will leave you at the Hakið viewpoint, where you will have the chance to take in the stunning panorama of the valley. From here, you can explore the park and the stunning natural beauty on offer there. Make your way towards Silfra, the tectonic fissure, in good time for the 4.45 pm dive start time.
Your diving guide will welcome you at the Silfra meeting point, where they will provide you will all the necessary equipment. Once you're all kitted out, your guide will give you a detailed briefing of the area and explain what you can expect of the tour itself. At this point, you will be ready to make your way to the entry platform. For about 30 minutes, you will dive in the crystal-clear water that fills the crack. After being filtered for centuries through the lava rocks, this is the purest water you will ever swim in. During your dive, you will explore the four main areas of Silfra: the Big Crack, the Hall, the Cathedral and the Lagoon.
At the end of the diving tour, you will make your way back to the meeting point, where your guide will help you to get out of your drysuit, and you will be offered hot chocolate and cookies to warm up.
Now it's time to drive back to Reykjavik. You are welcome to take this time to relax and enjoy the views, while you enjoy the memories of the day's adventure.
