Description
On this private tour, you are booking a whole car that accommodates 4 passengers.
Have a walk between lava fields, visit steamy geothermal areas, enjoy a relaxing soak in the Blue Lagoon, discover a beautiful lava tunnel, and much more on this private Reykjanes, Blue Lagoon, and Lava Tunnel Tour in a comfortable 4x4 jeep.
The tour will start in the morning when you will be picked up from your hotel in Reykjavik. First off, you will head south to visit Raufarhólshellir, one of the most beautiful lava tunnels in Iceland.
This tunnel is known for the abundance of colorful minerals and shining microbes lining its walls. You will have a walk inside the tunnel for approximately 1 hour, during which your knowledgeable guide will regale you with curiosities about lava and volcanism in Iceland. Don't forget to bring your camera, as you will no doubt want to capture the splendid colors of the minerals and rock formations.
The next highlight of the tour will be a true geological wonder: The Reykjanes UNESCO Global Geopark, the only place in the world where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is visible above sea level. In this park, we will enjoy the view over two beautiful geothermal lakes, the Kleifarvatn and Grænavatn lakes, as well as the colour-abundant Krýsuvík cove and its surrounding hills.
The Reykjanes Peninsula is also famous for its geothermal areas of Seltún and Gunnuhver, which will be our next stops. Then we will visit one of the oldest lighthouses in Iceland, the Reykjanesviti, and marvel at the surrounding basalt cliffs.
After getting some photographs of the basalt cliffs, we will have a walk on the bridge between the North American and the European tectonic plates. Have you ever had a chance to walk between two continents before?
After a full day of sightseeing, we will relax in the Blue Lagoon, one of the most popular natural geothermal areas in Iceland. While taking a bath, you can also enjoy a drink and try their silica beauty mask. Please note that entrance to the Blue Lagoon is not included in the price of this tour; you will need to book your entrance with them separately at least two weeks in advance.
If you don't feel like having a bath, you can always have a walk around the area, take photographs of the steamy blue pools and have a coffee in the Blue Lagoon's cafe.
Don't miss your chance to view some of Iceland's most distinctive natural features in a comfortable environment with professional and knowledgeable guidance. Check availability by choosing a date.
