Cruise Excursion | Golden Circle Small Group from Reykjavik Port

Cruise Excursion | Golden Circle Small Group from Reykjavik Port
Observe the earth's power at Þingvellir National Park where you can see the evidence of the Eurasian and North American plate pull apart.
Þingvellir National Park is not only treasured for its immense natural beauty but also its rich historical and cultural heritage.
The geyser Strokkur is located in the Geysir geothermal area and it sends boiling water into the air every 5-10minutes.
Before Strokkur blows, an iridescent blue bubble appears which is quickly replaced by a giant explosion of water as the water tension breaks.
You can walk between continents at Þingvellir National Park which was also used as a filming location for Game of Thrones.
Steaming vents across the country belie Iceland's geothermal power.

Step off of your cruise ship and hop onto a minibus to explore one of Iceland’s most treasured sightseeing routes; the Golden Circle. This tour is the perfect opportunity to see some of the most incredible natural attractions in Iceland with an expert guide who will not only introduce you to the sights but pick you up and drop you off at your cruise ship.

Select your ship from the pick-up list, and your guide will pick you up from the dock as you disembark from your cruise ship. From Reykjavík, you will travel to your first stop on the Golden Circle route; Þingvellir National Park.

Þingvellir is a fascinating area for many reasons. The park is characterised mainly by the ridge that runs through it which is made up of the exposed Eurasian and North American tectonic plates as they pull apart from one another.

Þingvellir was also the setting for the formation of the Icelandic parliament, the Alþingi, back in 930 AD which makes it the longest ongoing parliament in the world. Walk between continents and take in the marvellous views and culture of the region.

You will then move onto the mesmerising Geysir geothermal area where you will encounter steaming water spill over the surface of the earth creating many vivid colours thanks to the minerals in the water. You will watch the geyser, Strokkur shoot boiling water high up into the air approximately every 5-10 minutes.

You will then move onto the third and final official stop of the Golden Circle, Gullfoss waterfall. This brilliant natural feature is the second most powerful of its kind in Europe, and the water here cascades over two tiers into a deep canyon. On sunny days, it’s often possible to see a rainbow in the waterfall’s mist.

On your return journey to your ship, there will be an extra stop to Kerið crater famous for its vivid colouration and brilliant blue lake that resides within it.

Don’t miss this excellent opportunity to make the most of your cruise stop in Iceland. Check availability by choosing a date.

Our guide was very nice and spoke English well. The weather was perfect and had even over dressed. Loved all the places we stopped at.

Excellent tour. We were picked up on August 11 from the port were our ship was docked, only for our cruise ship passengers. The tour guide was friendly, knows a lot about Island. Shared with us information, story that made the trip exceptional. He even throw an extra quick tour of the city since we were ahead on the schedule. We were skeptical to book an external tour on our own on the last day we stayed in this port, Reykjavik. Believe me, they take care of everything and make sure we come back to our ship with plenty of time. I'll recommend to everybody that want to save compare to the same tour book on the ship. There is even the extra to be on a small bus, which speed up the process at every stop we do.

We were staying on a cruise ship overnight in Iceland and after viewing the cruise companies excursions we came across this company which was recommended to us. Once we had located the mini-bus which was a bit of a problem, due to the amount of coaches on the dock side and the amount of other tour companies looking for business, the experience with GeoIceland was fantastic. Our tour guide Thor was polite, friendly and helpful throughout our time with him. He was considerate in allowing us plenty of comfort breaks and very knowledgeable. Being in a mini bus it enabled us to get to the lake on the Golden Circle tour something you could not do on a coach. I would highly recommend this company and would use again if I am ever back in Iceland.
