10-Hour South Coast Small Group Shore Excursion from Reykjavik Port

You will be collected straight from your ship at the port and returned after the tour with a guaranteed hour to spare before you're scheduled to sail. You can look forward to a scenic journey through picturesque landscapes featuring black sand beaches, glacier views, beautiful waterfalls and quaint villages. The tour will be packed with endless wonders, and Skógafoss waterfall, Reynisfjara beach and Sólheimajökull glacier are among the highlights.

The pace of the tour is relaxed as there is only space for a total of 19-passengers on the bus. A smaller group size allows for more time at each attraction and more quality time with your guide to answer any questions you may have.

Once you have been picked up from the port, you will be whisked away to begin your journey along Iceland's South Coast. Your expert local guide will inform you along the way about the geology, history, and nature of the area.

The first stop will be the village Hveragerði where you will have a chance to get some snacks for the road. After approximately 2-hours on the road, you will reach the first natural wonder, Seljalandsfoss waterfall. This beautiful cascade falls in front of a large cavern which allows visitors to walk behind the falls in the summertime although it is sometimes closed in the winter due to ice.

The next stop is another epic waterfall called Skógafoss which falls in a broad curtain on a largely flat plateau so visitors to the falls can get quite close and admire the rainbows in the mist on sunny days.

As you make your way along the coastline, you will stop at Sólheimajökull Glacier, the village of Vík and Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. You will enjoy a lunch break at one of these locations, but the meal is not included in the price.

Many of the beautiful landscapes of the South Coast are surrounded by mountainous and glacier views providing exceptional photo opportunities. The tour ends with a relaxing drive back to your cruise ship in Reykjavík.
