Enjoy two incredible Icelandic experiences, rolled into one day; go whale-watching from Reykjavík's Old Harbour, and bathe in the geothermal, rejuvenating waters of the Blue Lagoon. This tour should not be missed by those seeking unique opportunities in Iceland’s nature.

You will begin the day with the whale-watching excursion. Your boat is waiting at Reykjavík’s Old Harbour, and you can arrange transfer here if need be. This is a large vessel, with spacious outdoor viewing areas, an indoor area with a bar, and overalls and seasickness tablets for those who need them.

Once your group has boarded, you will set out into Faxaflói Bay. As you sail further from Reykjavík, you’ll attain stunning views of the capital’s skyline, as well as its surrounding nature. This includes the tabletop mountain Esja, the Whale Fjord Hvalfjörður, the Reykjanes Peninsula, and in clear weather, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

Faxaflói Bay is teaming with life. The most regularly seen species are white-beaked dolphins and minke whales, although you also have an excellent chance of also spotting humpback whales and harbour porpoises. Other species occasionally seen include orcas, blue whales, fin whales, and pilot whales.

The birdlife off the coast of Reykjavík is also bountiful. You can see dozens of species, which in summer will include puffins.

If you do not see a whale or dolphin, or weather prevents you from setting out, you will have the chance to take another whale watch again for free.

Once you return to Reykjavík’s harbour, you will transfer to a coach that will take you along the barren, volcanic Reykjanes Peninsula to the Blue Lagoon. Please note that the cost of entry is not included in the price of this tour, and you will need to buy your ticket in advance to get in. You will also need to arrive at the lagoon by 14:00 to make sure you gain entry.

The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s most visited and beloved tourist destinations. Its warm water is said to have health benefits, as do the silica masks you can apply; there are many spa treatments available, and facilities such as saunas and steam-rooms.

After spending your time enjoying the incredible effects of Iceland’s active geothermal activity, you will return to your coach, and be whisked back to Reykjavík.

Do not miss this opportunity to marvel over the whales of Faxaflói Bay and healing effects of the Blue Lagoon. Check availability by choosing a date.
