Come along for a tour of the finest sites in Iceland, along with a luxurious soak in the warm waters of Laugarvatn Fontana Spa & Wellness Center. Traverse the famous Golden Circle, with three of the most well-known sites in Icelandic history and culture: Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area, and Þingvellir National Park.

Gullfoss is one of the most powerful waterfalls in all of Europe, where huge quantities of water rush over the two-tiered falls and down into the gorge below. Geysir geothermal area is another natural wonder, full of bubbling mud pots, steaming vents and geysers which explode regularly, flinging scalding water high into the air. The most active, Strokkur erupts every 10 minutes, sending water as high as 40 m (131 feet).

Last is Þingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the world’s first parliament was founded in 930 AD. The Vikings who came here to participate in the politics of the day looked out on these same rifts, walked the gorge between the two tectonic plates, and gazed at the silvery waters of the nearby rivers and fissures which reach deep in the earth.

Relax in the natural geothermal baths at Laugarvatn Fontana Spa & Wellness Center after such a thorough tour of the Golden Circle. After exploring so much of the South Coast, Laugarvatn Fontana Spa is the perfect way to relax and revitalise both body and mind.

For almost a century, locals in the community of Laugarvatn have been enjoying the healing powers of natural steam from a geothermal field at the edge of the lake. Built over this geothermal area, the Laugarvatn Fontana Spa & Wellness Center features geothermal steam rooms, hot pools and outdoor mineral baths and a fantastic view over the lake.

If you are there in the evening and conditions are just right, you may be able to enjoy the Technicolor dreamscape of the Northern Lights as you relax.

At Laugarvatn Fontana Spa & Wellness Center you will also find Fontana Café that offers a nice selection of healthy and locally produced delicacies and refreshments. The menu also includes soup of the day and trout from the lake which is a great idea for those that just want to enjoy the facilities without going to the baths.

Don't miss out on these essential Icelandic locations, topped off by pure relaxation in a geothermal spa. Check availability by choosing a date.

We loved this tour!! It's one Christmas Eve we will never forget!! The coach we were on was half empty so our trip was comfy and not rushed. Our tour guide was knowledgeable. Her commentary started the minute we got on until the minute we got off. I loved every minute. Everything was how i'd hoped Iceland would be....rugged. Breathakingly beautiful. Cold and snowy. There were plenty of opportunitys for toilet breaks (although at Pingvellir it cost £1.40 to spend a penny!!) and food stops. We ended our day at Fontana which was beautiful. Sitting relaxing in the hotpools overlooking snow capped mountains. Our only disappointment was that we had to cut short our visit as they closed early on this particular day due to Christmas celebrations. Our tour guide didn't know this. Overall i can't fault the tour, and would highly recommend it. Make sure you wear warm clothes if you go in the winter as it was so cold up at Gullfoss!!

When you have not much time in Iceland you should definitely take this tour! It is a perfect mix of breathtaking viewpoints, historical places and interesting stories of professional guides. Moreover we were lucky to try icelandic bread baked in the ground! For the people who are not really into mainstream Fontaha Spa is a brilliant substitute to the Blue Lagoon. We are greatful for this experience. Thank you!

If you are in Iceland , do not miss this tour. Very well organised, and a very good combination: landscape, geysir area, bath. This tour gives you a bit of a taste of the most interesting things around that area. We enjoyed it! We liked Fontana Spa especially for the peaceful enviroment. The organisation is perfect, the guides are professionals, the experience for us was wonderful. Do not miss Golden circle tour, we liked it with the spa included. Thank you for the unforgetable memories! Agi &Vera

We did this tour upon arriving in Iceland early morning and it was a big ‘wow’ factor. It was exactly as described in the tour. Everyplace was so amazing, I especially liked walking in Thingvellir, it’s like walking back in time. The 3 of us then got dropped off at Fontana while the rest of the group went on. We spent far too much time there, trying to relax and wondering when the tour bus would pick us up. An hour would have been optimal for me. The food in the cafe is limited but tasty (think smoked salmon, steamed brown bread and soup) When we got dropped off at the hotel, I felt we had toured half the island. Maybe it was the jet lag.

This was best trip we had during our stay in Iceland. It provided an opportunity to visit some remarkable locations with breathtaking scenery - it is a must for everyone! In addition to this, Olafur and his team provided the very highest levels of customer service - they went far beyond and above anything we would have expected to ensure that trips cancelled due to bad weather were re-booked, (even hose not booked via Guide to Iceland!!). They also provided great independent advise on the pros and cons of each trip we were considering - they will be our first stop when we return to this fantastic country! Olafur, we can't thank you enough!

Great tour! The stops at each site were long enough to walk around, enjoy the views, and take pictures. Stopping at the Fontana Baths was a lovely intermission to the day, the view was incredible, and the rye bread was delicious and unique! It was nice being picked up after the baths by a smaller bus for a more personal experience!

A full day sightseeing by bus may be exhausting for kids. We were recommended this trip as it included a couple of hours in the Fontana Geothermal Baths and it made the trip a success! The sights and trip was of course marvelous. The guides were really knowledgeable and enhanced the impression of the Golden Circle. Highly recommended!

We loved Iceland and all the stops on this tour. Our only concern was that the listing indicated the tour was being offered in English with no indication it was being offered in another language as well. It was primarily in a language we don't understand. When he would switch to a few words of English, it was very disjointed and we ended up learning very little from our guide. He was clearly more comfortable in the other language. We only paid the additional cost of a tour instead of self drive because we wanted the commentary. The portion of the tour at Fontana Baths was our favourite.
