Review of One Week Summer Self-Drive Tour of Iceland’s West & South Coasts with Waterfalls & Glaciers

Overall a great trip. Much appreciated your responsiveness and communication with us. Having said that, a few caveats: 1. Travelers should be careful how they schedule additional activities because your daily itineraries are FULL. We loved the ice cave adventure, but it didn't finish until after 2:00 PM and left us with over 300km of driving until we got to our lodging. Therefore had to skip some stops we wanted to make. 2. The Englendingavik guest house was a disappointment. We had a bunch of flies in our bedroom and hadn't counted on not having a private bathroom and shower. Having to pass through the breakfast room to get to the bathroom and shower while people were eating breakfast was not enjoyable. Also, breakfast consisted of a container of granola and an open carton of milk--not great. 3. The parking charges at the various venues need some clarification. When we arrived at Ytri Tunga it was pouring rain and we barely got out of the car while planning our next stop. Couldn't have been there more than 10 minutes and assumed there would be a grace period--nope. Got charged 1,000 krona and a 2,000 krona penalty for not paying. At Thingvellir, we found that it was not listed in our Parka app and used a kiosk, which took my credit card but froze when I tried to put in our license plate. Therefore got charged for the parking twice and another 2,000 krona penalty. This one I protested with Blue Car. They said they would take care of it but I have not heard back from them despite showing them proof of the charges on my credit card bill.

Snorkeling in Iceland: What You Need To Know

Snorkeling tours in Iceland offer a unique opportunity to uncover the country’s hidden underwater beauty. Available year-round—even in winter—these tours cater to all skill levels, making them accessible to everyone from beginners to experts.

Snorkeling in Iceland is quite unlike what most travelers are used to. Forget beach shorts and coral reefs. In Iceland, you’ll suit up in a drysuit, glide through dark underwater canyons, and float in icy, crystal-clear waters. It’s an adventure unlike any other.

For those ready to embrace the cold, Iceland offers some of the most breathtaking underwater treasures. As the home of Silfra fissure, one of the planet’s top snorkeling and diving destinations, it’s a must-visit for adventurers and nature lovers alike.

Snorkeling in Iceland’s Silfra Fissure

What is the visibility like when snorkeling in Silfra Fissure?
Silfra is known for its exceptional underwater visibility, which can exceed 328 feet (100 meters) on a clear day.
