Daily itinerary

Day 1
Travel in a super jeep to hard to reach locations, such as the Highlands, on this 4-day adventure tour.

Day 1 - Welcome to Iceland

Your adventure starts at either Keflavík Airport or Reykjavík city, where your guide will pick you up. If your flight arrives early and you chose an airport pickup, you can begin your Iceland excursion by exploring the otherworldly Reykjanes peninsula which combines awesome landscape with geothermal power.

On the way to your accommodation in the southern town of Hvolsvöllur, you will stop for lunch and also do some sightseeing to give you a sense of what Iceland is about.

Depending on your flight and departure location, you might arrive early to Hvolsvöllur. A highly recommended activity in the town is a visit to the Lava Centre, which is just a few minutes walk from your accommodation.

You'll be staying at Midgard Base Camp, located in the heart of south Iceland. In the evening, you'll enjoy an Icelandic dinner with the rest of your tour group where you can all get to know each other. After the meal, you'll either go on a short evening hike or relax in the rooftop hot tub and sauna before going to bed.

Day 2 - South Coast with Glacier Hike

Start the day with a hearty breakfast buffet before today's adventure. You'll be exploring Iceland's beautiful South Coast where you'll see the waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, the black sand beach Reynisfjara, and the cliffs Dyrhólaey.

In the afternoon you'll visit Sólheimajökull, an outlet glacier of the larger Mýrdalsjökull. Your guide will tell you all about the ongoing changes the of the ice cap due to Iceland's active environment. To give you an even better introduction of the glacier, you'll put on crampons and take on a short hike on top of the ancient ice.

You'll return to the Base Camp in the afternoon where you'll be free to spend the rest of the day as you please. You could visit the local swimming pool; it is the best way to unwind after an active day. The pool area consists of a warm-water outdoor pool, hot tubs and a sauna.

After dinner, if you are not too tired, you could go for an evening bike ride. However, you could also choose to spend the last hours of the day at the Base Camp where you can share stories with your group while having a drink at the bar.

Day 3
See moss-covered mountains as you travel through the Highlands on a super jeep.

Day 3 - Thorsmork Super Jeep to the Hidden Highlands

After a fine breakfast, you'll put on your hiking boots, tie your shoelaces and head on to Þórsmörk, the valley of the thunder god, Thor hidden inside the barren Icelandic highlands. The valley was created after eruptions underneath glaciers, resulting in a stunning area of both flat land and majestic mountains.

You'll board a massive super jeep, a custom vehicle built to handle the Highland's rough roads and on your way inside the valley; you will explore the surroundings of the volcano Eyjafjallajökull, the one that erupted in 2010. You'll stop by the outlet glacier, Gígjökull where the eruption first presented itself.

If the group is willing, you will hike around the Þórsmörk valley for a while before returning back to the Base Camp for dinner. In the evening you could go on a hike, chill in the rooftop hot tub or visit the swimming pool or Lava Centre.

Make sure you bring good hiking shoes on your tour into the Highlands.

Day 4 - Surprise Day & Departure

After a filling breakfast, get ready for your final adventure!

Mother Nature is in control of today's itinerary. You might take a hike through the Reykjadalur valley, a geothermal area where you can take a dip in a warm river. However, if the weather is not suitable for a hike, you could visit the Þjórsárdalur valley, the Golden Circle or something entirely different. Whatever you do today, it promises to be filled with both fun and adventure.

At the end of the day, you will be driven to either Keflavík International Airport or Reykjavík. If you are flying home on this day, your flight should depart at 7:00 PM or later.

If you decide to extend your stay, we are of course more than willing to help you book your accommodation in Reykjavík or somewhere else.

We can also drop you off at the Blue Lagoon if you so wish, just note that you will have to book entrance to the lagoon online in advanced.
