The highlights of your adventure include the charming old lighthouses Hafnarnesviti and Selvogsviti, the latter of which rests in Selvogur Bay, home of seals and whales. With a little bit of luck, you might spot these beautiful animals out in the waters. A plethora of birds also call this area home.
You will also visit an old shipwreck on the black beach, and place of interest Herdísarvík Cove; home to the famous Icelandic poet Einar Ben. You will as well pay a house-call to the beautiful church Strandarkirkja, legendary for granting wishes according to Icelandic folklore.
The trip takes about an hour, but to get into your warm suit and life jacket which you'll be provided with, you'll need to be at the office 30 minutes before your departure.
Minimum passengers per excursion are five. If your group does not meet that number, your operator will attempt to gather the additional people needed for the ride. Otherwise, your trip will be compensated for or rescheduled. Your trip also will be cancelled if the weather would make the trip dangerous.
These trips are perfect for all ages, but the minimum age is 5 years. People with back problems or pregnant women should not sail on RIB boats.
