Landmannalaugar Day Tour | Hiking and Hot Spring Bathing

Finally, you’ll reach your destination. Landmannalaugar is sometimes called ‘the Pearl of the Highlands’, as it is the region’s most popular area. Why will become apparent very quickly; it is a spectacular place of brightly coloured rhyolite mountains, bubbling hot springs spilling into steaming rivers and panoramic views.

You will have several hours to make the most of the area. You can take the hiking trails to some particularly notable ridges or more crater lakes to take in the unbelievable landscapes, bathe in the hot springs, or mix your time here doing both.

When you have fully enjoyed what Landmannalaugar has to offer, you’ll return to the bus and take the scenic drive back to Reykjavík. En route, you will make a stop to view one of Iceland’s most active and powerful volcanoes, Hekla.
