Admire the incredible sites of the Golden Circle, and see one of them in an exhilarating and unique new way with a snorkelling adventure in Silfra. This tour is perfect for those who want to see Iceland’s most famous places, but don’t want to miss out on any excitement.

You will be picked up in the morning and head straight towards your snorkel; nothing, after all, will wake you up like a plunge into Icelandic spring water.

Þingvellir, where Silfra is located, is within the rift valley between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, which are visible as soon as you enter the park. The geology and surrounding nature are breathtaking, and you will have your opportunity to explore them later in the day.

First, however, you will reach Silfra and get into your snorkelling gear. When you enter the ravine, you will be instantly mesmerised by its incredible beauty. Not only is it a dramatic gorge, up to 63 metres deep, but it is a freshwater spring, with some of the clearest naturally occurring water in the world; the visibility exceeds a hundred metres.

Once you have marvelled over this wonder, you will exit the water, get into your dry clothes, and start exploring Þingvellir. This park is not only famed for its geology but also its fascinating history. It was here, after all, that early Vikings formed a representative parliament in 930 AD, which still continues to this day. This makes Þingvellir the original site of the world’s longest-running parliament and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Following your walk through this area, you will head to the geothermal valley Haukadalur, home to hot springs, steam vents, and two geysers. The first of these was the first described in European literature and gave all others their name: Geysir itself. The second is Strokkur, which, unlike its neighbour, is incredibly active, erupting every ten minutes or so to heights of up to forty metres.

Finally, you will head to Iceland’s most famous waterfall, Gullfoss. This majestic natural feature tumbles in two tiers into a beautiful canyon, and there are several viewing platforms to admire it from. One of these sits just feet away from where the water is falling.

Do not hesitate to jump on this tour. Plunge into Silfra's depths, and explore the famed Golden Circle. Check booking availability by choosing a date.

Bryndís, I hope I spelt her name correct, was the best tour guide ever! She is full of knowledge, gave the best advice and since we had some time left, we stopped at a couple other hotspots that weren't on our itinerary! It was the best day of our Iceland trip and we definitely recommend it to everyone!

Could not recommend more! We loved every moment of this package with our return driver even stopping off to show us some extras! Best day, snorkelling was breath taking! Definitely an activity worth experiencing!

Could not recommend this package more highly, and yes, even in the dead of winter. I was extremely excited going into my trip to Iceland and one of the reasons was the snorkeling tour that we had scheduled. The package we selected was a full day tour that included the snorkeling and a tour of some of the sights in the golden circle. Not only was the snorkeling even more amazing and fun that I was hoping, but the small group size (ours was a van of 6 people total for the day) and amazing tour guide made it that much better. I went with the wet suit option and my girlfriend did the dry suit and we both had great experiences that were exactly what we were looking for. In addition to just this once in a lifetime adventure, our guide, Prentiss (sp.) was not only a great snorkeling leader but was absolutely fantastic as a driver and tour guide for the golden circle. We got a chance to see all the major sights in the golden circle with essentially curbside service and great information, but she also took us to a few smaller places where there was no one else (smaller back-road waterfalls and a working dairy farm/creamery) which made for an unforgettable and one of a kind day.

We had an amazing time on our tour in Iceland! This was the the best option for us because we only had one day. Highly recommend!

The whole tour was fantastic, but snorkeling and Gullfoss were the highlights. Our guide Heimir was one of our top 3 favorite things we experienced on our entire trip to Iceland. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone.

Fantastic. Absolutely breathtaking (albeit terrifying for the first few seconds). Wesson was a terrific and very fun guide who really went the extra mile for those he led. Adventure Vikings were tremendous!

My trip with was awesome! I was the only person in my group to use a wetsuit and I must say it was well worth it. The experience of snorkeling in silfra was great.

This tour was hands-down our favorite one during our trip to Iceland! The snorkeling is one-of-a-kind and we have awesome memories to last a lifetime! Our guide was super friendly, very knowledgeable, and clearly had a great love and pride of his country. We recommended this tour to everyone on the other tours we took. Don't hesitate on this one, you won't regret it!

I'm so glad that I joined this tour to challenge myself. I'm not a good swimmer so at first I was reluctant to join the snorkelling part, but the tour was absolutely fantastic. There were 10 people in the group and I was the first one to get into the water. It was terrifying for the first few seconds but I soon found that snorkelling was actually not that difficult. I wore two heat-tech t-shirts, one hoodie, a pair of thick leggings and a pair of thick socks underneath my drysuit so that I could stay warm; in the end all my clothing stayed dry after I finished the snorkelling part, but my friend's shirt collar was a little wet. The water is 2 degree celsius all year so your face and fingers might feel numb after snorkelling for 45 mins. Under the water there is indeed not much to see, as there are no fish or other water animals; all you could see are just some rocks and water plants, but you are sure to be amazed by the clear water and relaxed by the quietness down there. After snorkelling my friends and I continued our journey to visit the golden circle. We had to walk for 30 mins to join the other tour guide at Þingvellir. We were super tired so we all fell asleep on the car. Then we went to Haukadalur and Gullfoss which were both amazing.
