Daily itinerary

Day 1 - Day 1

2 Day South Coast Tour | Glacier Hike in Skaftafell & Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon

We depart Reykjavík early in the morning and we head east along the South Coast of Iceland. After about couple of hours drive through Icelandic farm land we make our first sightseeing stops at the scenic Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, you'll get a chance to walk behind the first one. Our next stop will be at the Black Sand Beach of Reynisfjara with it's basalt columns cave and impressive rock formation, Reynisdrangar peaks.

Around noon we will find a good place for lunch at the coastal village of Vík, before we head further east. The drive from Vík to Skaftafell has amazing landscape, with many glacier rivers, lava fields, black sands and Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull on your left side. After dinner you'll have the opportunity to look for the northern lights (April-May, Sept-Oct) or enjoy the Arctic Midnight Sun (June-July).

Day 2 - Day 2

2 Day South Coast Tour | Glacier Hike in Skaftafell & Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon

We start the day at the picturesque Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. During the summer, you have the opportunity to take an amphibian boat ride between the icebergs but in other seasons you can use your time here to take in the scenery and get the greatest photos of your life. From the glacier lagoon, we make our way to Vatnajökull glacier where we prepare for the glacier hike. Our skilled guides will go over all safety features and equipment before we set foot on the glacier. On our journey, we will come across incredible ice formations, crevasses and the impressive ice fall, where we will see up close how the ancient ice stoically falls hundreds of meters off the mountain top. The Skaftafell area is one of Iceland's biggest movie star known from Batman Begins, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and, of course, The Game of Thrones.

After the glacier hike, we start making our way back to Reykjavik. We will travel the same route as the day before, but don't worry there will still be a lot of things to see and enjoy on the way. We will drop you up at your accommodation place in Reykjavik after these two days of delight.
