You can either meet your guide in the parking lot of Gullfoss Waterfall or arrange for a pickup in Reykjavík city. You'll board a large, custom vehicle, specially built to drive into the wild highlands.
The drive takes around 2-3 hours, and you'll be travelling along the southern edge of the highlands. The view is mostly of rolling plains, but you'll also pass the Bláafallsháls mountains before continuing into the Hvítárnes area.
This heart of the western-central highlands offers various picturesque points and scenery, whether you want to experience them with your own eyes or through a camera lens.
Nestled in a small valley at the northeastern edge of the Kerlingarfjöll Mountains are your accommodations. This remote resort is surrounded by nothing but the untouched Icelandic nature, so make sure to breathe in the fresh mountain as you arrive.
After you've settled into your room, you'll be treated to a hearty dinner. You can then spend the evening relaxing in the resort´s hot tub, watching the sky to see if the Northern Lights make an appearance.
After a good nights sleep in the quietness of the Icelandic highlands, you'll be ready for an active day in the wilderness.
The day starts with a good breakfast. After you've fuelled up, you'll be ready to mount a snowmobile and race across the snowy landscapes with the adrenaline surging through your veins. You'd spend 30-minutes on the snowmobile unless you added an extra hour during the booking process.
Then it is time for the hiking tour. Your guide will introduce the various walking and hiking possibilities, and you'll choose the one suitable for you, ranging from short walks up to 4-6 hours hiking. At your discretion, you are also free to relax at the resort and enjoy the tranquillity of the nature surrounding the resort.
Before you return back to Gullfoss or Reykjavík, you can finish your stay at the resort with a good meal and a relaxing soak in the hot tub.
Return lift to Gullfoss starts at 13:00 PM. You'll be back at Gullfoss waterfalls at around 16;00 PM, filled with memories that will last you a lifetime.
There is no shop on the way to Kerlingarfjöll from Gullfoss or in Kerlingarfjöll so bring your necessities. But don’t worry, we can usually arrange a solution!
