Join us for an in-depth experience of the Golden Circle and see some of the less-visited sights and "off the beaten path" sites for a more comprehensive experience of the most popular day tour in Iceland. We will visit the main attractions Gullfoss, Geysir and Þingvellir National Park plus additional local favourites.

Our first stop after your pick-up from Reykjavík is Kerid crater, a beautiful red volcanic crater worth a visit, as this is actually a crater formed once a volcano emptied its magma chamber and collapsed upon itself. We will continue to Friðheimar greenhouses, where you will be going on a guided walk through the greenhouses. You will learn all about Icelandic horticulture and how in this cultivation centre the bees are part of the family, the tomatoes are grown and how the greenhouses are equipped with modern technical appliances to make the most of the Icelandic conditions. You will, of course, get to taste their famous tomatoes before getting back on the road.

Þingvellir national park is one of our most treasured sightseeing stops; it is a UNESCO world heritage site, uniting historical and geological features. It is located on the ridge of the Northern American and Eurasian tectonic plates and the area where the first democratically elected parliament, Alþingi, took place in 930 CE.

Geysir geothermal area is a truly unique place where you can watch the Strokkur geyser erupt every 7 minutes or so, spouting 10-20 meters water fountains. You will be able to see other magical geothermal phenomena such as smaller hot springs, mud pools and fumaroles that will emit steam and leave you speechless.

Gullfoss waterfall translates to the "Golden falls", as they plunge in two steps down a deep valley. During the summertime, you can often find plenty of rainbows triggered by the spray created by the mighty water masses thundering down the steep falls.

We will also stop at a local favourite, Brú's Horse petting, where you can indulge in petting the cute Icelandic horses and take a long-overdue selfie.
