Come along on this tour of Landmannalaugar geothermal area, in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve at the edge of the highlands of Iceland. This tour is perfect for anyone who wishes to explore the natural topography of Iceland and see why the natives love it so much. You‘ll be picked up from your accommodation and delivered to the untouched wilds.

Often called “The Pearl of the Central Highlands,” the mountains in Landmannalaugar are streaked with colour due to mineral deposits in the rock—a dazzling array of delicate pale neutrals, rusty reds and gleaming black and grey.

Beyond the rhyolite mountains and lava fields, there are many natural hot springs, one of which you will have the opportunity to try for yourself before continuing on. Don‘t forget your bathing suit and towel!

As you return to Reykjavík for the evening, you‘ll pass enchanting fields of sheep and Icelandic horses, sun-dappled purple flowers called Lupin and more lava rock. All of this together gives Iceland the look of a new and strange planet, quite unlike the one you know!

If the weather is clear, you may spot Hekla a short distance away, one of Iceland‘s most temperamental volcanos, having suffered more than 20 eruptions since the Settlement Period.

With these stunning landscapes before you, it is not hard to see why this is one of the most popular hiking areas in Iceland, marking the beginning of the Laugavegur Trail. Laugavegur goes all the way to þórsmörk valley, a primal area of glacial rivers and craggy rock amid a lovely forest.

My wife and I took this tour in the last day of our 8-day stay in Iceland, and it did not disappoint! Yes there was 7-8 hours riding on the bus from/to Reykjavik, but it was well worth it, considering the magnificent 3 hours we experienced there, not to mention the magnificent scenery along the way including the great photo stops. We are glad that we omitted the hot spring soak because we did Blue Lagoon a few days back. This gave us just enough time to explore the area and fully enjoy the 2.5 mile loop trial from through the Laugahraun lava field to the great plain of wild flowers surround by colorful mountains, continue to the mushrooming sulfur spots on the hillside, and back through the Grænagil trail through the lava again then walking along the impressive river valley cut through black and yellow rocks, almost devoid of travelers. What an out-of-this-world scenery!

투어시간도 적당하고 중간중간 좋은곳을 많이 소개시켜주셔서 좋았습니다. 가이드분도 매우 친절하시고 전문적이셨고요. 너무 좋았던 투어였습니다.

Good tour. We happened to visit Saga valley too on the way to Landmannalaugar. There was some rain that got us wet. Yet, the walk at Landmannalaugar with our tour guide was great. I would recommend all to definitely take this tour and not miss visiting this awesome place.

Good value and an amazing tour! In a small group and minibus I had i wonderful tour to Landmannalaugar with "Guide to Iceland" and Reykjavik Excursions! The guide, who was our driver too, informed us well on our way, answered all of our questions in a polite, patient and informative way, and he gave us enough time when we stopped. He also made stops when we asked for it! At Landmannalaugar we got three hours to stroll around. For those who wanted it, he went for a hike in the area. In our group no-one wanted to take a dip in the hot springs, so we used all our time strolling around. Of course - in such a magic area you could wish for even more time than three hours, but then we might go back by ourselves another time. Since Landmannalaugar was the main purpouse of the tour, it was really nice to have three hours there. On our way to and from this pearl, we also did stops with magnificient views. I would definately do this tour again with the same companies.

It was an incredible experience to hike through the valley, and I'll never forget sitting in those beautiful natural hot springs. It was definitely a highlight of my trip. The guides were friendly, knowledgable and approachable, and I would highly recommend this tour.

I really enjoyed the tour to Landmannalaugar,, the scenery is great and even if it is a bit of a drive there is always something to see along the way, my only wish would be that you could stay in Landmannalaugar for more time, the hike was great but I would also have liked to have time to wander off on my own after that to see more of the area. Absolutely going back there in the near future :)

This journey with 'Guide to Iceland" was fantastic! Our bus was a like a hybrid off road jeep! Lots of windows everywhere. Every seat was an open view. It was very fun. Our tour guide was awesome, very knowledgeable and friendly. Our driver was highly skilled. The adventure we had all along the way and at our destination of Landmannalaugar was one of the best highlights of my visit to Iceland. I highly recommend this tour and company. I can't wait to go back!

I was very disappointed in this tour. The lady who was with us as a. ?Guide or over seer for the day didn't say a word about anything. I mean not one thing!! If we did even go past Hekla, well it wasn't obvious to me and we didn't stop. As far as pjorsardalur, same.....Did we just drive right by? Nothing was mentioned. I thought there could have been some brief in bus commentary if we weren't stopping. What we did do was spent hours driving into every nook and cranny along the way, especially on the way back...That's why so much time is spent travelling to and from there. I mean 4 hours each way??!! I realise they have to provide a pickup service for campers and hikers returning, but using a day tour (and our money to achieve this) was not fair. When we arrived at Landmannagaular I had no clue how much time we would have there, and again had to ask the lady who just sat on the bus and said nothing. Poorly executed tour and I do not recommend it. It's just a waste of money.
