Spend the day surrounded by the most spectacular sights in Iceland on this tour to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Travel through lava fields to black pebble beaches while a great glacier watches over you. This tour is suited for all who wish to see a grand selection of Iceland’s diverse landscapes in just one day.

Nicknamed ‘Iceland in miniature’, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula has it all; vast fields of lava, high cliffs, cascading waterfalls, sleeping fishing villages, black beaches, and a glacier covering a volcano. On this tour, you’ll travel this 90-kilometre long peninsula, witnessing some of the best sights Iceland has to offer.

After being picked up in Reykjavík in the morning, you’ll be driven through the county’s west coast to the great Snæfellsnes region. There, you’ll visit the quaint hamlet of Arnarstapi, where you can find a beautiful rock arch and the stone man, Bárður Snæfellsás, the protector of the peninsula.

You’ll see the massive volcanic plugs, or stone pinnacles, of Lóndrangar. At 75 metres and 61 metres tall, these twin peaks rise out of the ocean like enormous castles, as flocks of birds that nest in nearby cliffs, soar over and between them.

Djúpalónssandur black pebble beach is also on the agenda. This is where you can see whether you’re strong enough to be an Icelandic fisherman as on the beach are four ‘measuring stones’. Those who can lift these stones would qualify to be on a fishing vessel.

You’ll also visit beautiful waterfalls, canyons and drive through a dark lava field. Watching over you this entire journey is Snæfellsjökull, a glacier that covers a 7000-year old volcano. This majestic glacier was made famous by Jules Verne when he used it as the entrance to the subterranean journey in his classic novel Journey to the Centre of the Earth.

So don't wait, join this tour and experience the vast wonders of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Check availability by choosing a date.
