Daily itinerary

Day 1 - Reykjavik - Snaefellsnes North


Kirkjufell can be found on the tip of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.


You will begin this tour with an early morning departure from Reykjavík. Your expert driver-guide will meet you at your accommodation or the nearest bus stop. They will then set a course to the magnificent Snæfellsnes Peninsula, first heading towards its northern side.

On the way, you will make a stop to dip your feet into a nice hot natural spring, providing not only relaxation, but some insight into this country’s geothermal underbelly. You will continue to explore the northern coast, discovering its small fishing towns and the mountain, Kirkjufell, most famous for its role as the “mountain like an arrowhead” in HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Afterward, you will enter Snæfellsjökull National Park, stretching your legs by climbing up to the crater, Saxhóll. Your next stop will be Djúpalónssandur pebble beach where you will spend some time appreciating the area’s amazing rock formations.

After the beach, a short drive will take you to the 8000-old lava tube cave, Vatnshellir. You will then travel to your overnight hotel for a bite to eat and some much needed respite.


Day 2 - Snaefellsnes South – Borgarfjorður


The rugged coastlines of Snæfellsnes.


In the morning, you will explore the astonishing south coast of the peninsula; this stretch of land is positively teeming with natural wonders. You will pay a visit the ancient fishing village of Hellnar, as well as the hamlet of Arnarstapi, where you will spend time walking among the basaltic rock formations fond in the area.

Afterward, you’ll make a stop at the hamlet Búðir to visit the beautiful little black church that has become so iconic in photographs, as well as visit something of an enigma in Iceland; a golden sand beach.

On your way to Reykjavik in the afternoon, you will detour towards the beautiful Borgarfjörður area where you’ll take some time exploring the magnificent waterfalls of Hraunfossar, as well as make a quick stop at Europe’s most powerful hot spring, Deildartunguhver.
