Ultimate Reykjavik night - local beers & Northern Lights

Enjoy an evening eating and drinking with local Icelanders, before setting off to witness the incredible Northern Lights. This tour combines culture, relaxation, traditional cuisine and excellent beers with one of nature's greatest marvels.

You will begin your evening by meeting your group and host at the bar 'Bryggjan Brugghús', located at the Old Harbour. Here, you will taste six different Icelandic beers, some traditional ales and some modern craft lagers, each of them served with a traditional Icelandic meal, presented in the style of tapas.

All of the food is locally sourced and freshly prepared. The highlights are no doubt the ingredients that Icelanders have been working with since the birth of their nation: fish and lamb. Of course, if you do not eat meat or have other dietary requirements, you just need to let someone know in advance so that your needs can be met.

Your host can answer any of your questions as you drink and eat, about Icelandic culture, history and what you should not miss while you are here. This part of the tour is informal and relaxed, so feel free to talk with them about whatever you want.

Once you are full of traditional food and beer, it is time to start your hunt for the Northern Lights. Your bus will pick you up from Bryggjan Brugghús, and you will be impressed by its modern features. It has wifi, USB plugs, and an in-Bus Audio Guide that can tell you all about the tour in one of ten different languages.

When your group is ready, you'll head out of Reykjavík. There are no destinations on your agenda; you will simply go where the Northern Lights are most likely to be seen. Your guide will be tracking them and the cloud cover online, to give you the best shot at catching sight of them. They know all the darkest, quietest areas, to provide you with the best viewing sites.

Your guide is also an expert in the Northern Lights, so can answer any question about them. Specifically, they are brilliant at photographing them, so can help you out with your camera and ensure that the settings are correct. There are tripods you are welcome to use onboard. If you did not bring warm enough clothes, there are also jackets to rent.

If you are not lucky enough to catch the Northern Lights, you are welcome to join the tour another evening until you can spot them.

So do not hesitate; have a drink, a bite to eat, and marvel over the aurora borealis. Check availability by choosing a date.
