Go off the beaten path to one of the country's best-kept secret, the quiet and beautiful Westfjords. Those wanting to immerse themselves in amazing nature and avoid the crowds should book this day tour now.

On this fantastic excursion, you'll visit some of the local's favourite places in this beautiful but little-visited part of the country. You'll not only see spectacular scenery, but you will get to know the local culture as well.

You'll be picked up in Reykjavík in the morning and then driven out of the city. You'll travel through the towns of Borgarfjörður and Búðardalur on your way to your first destination today, the village of Hólmavík in the Westfjords.

Hólmavík is located in Steingrímsfjörður fjord, which is named after a Viking troll who is thought to have settled in the area over a thousand years ago. The town is famed for its Museum of Sorcery and Witchcraft, a museum that focuses on spells, rituals and regional magic. Those wanting to learn more about the occult can take an optional tour of the museum.

If that doesn't suit your interest, you could instead take an optional horse riding tour, where you ride the friendly Icelandic horse through the countryside, or a whale watching excursion to see the playful animals that live in Steingrímsfjörður fjord.

You could also just explore the town itself, see its colourful houses or go birdwatching. You could spot a few Arctic terns as well as the adorable puffin before you head off to your next destination, the nearby town of Drangsnes.

Make sure to bring your bathing suit on this tour because the town of Drangsnes is known for its hot tubs. You'll have the chance to soak in one of the three hot tubs of Drangsnes that are located right on the shoreline. You'll have a fantastic view of the Atlantic Ocean as you unwind in the warm, geothermal waters.

Before you head back to Reykjavík, you'll also have the option of stopping at the nearby town of Djúpavík where the recent Hollywood movie, Justice League was filmed.

Visit one of Iceland's most beautiful region on this memorable day tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
