Unforgettable 1 Hour Bjorbodin Beer Spa Tour in North Iceland

Soak yourself in a spa, full of beer with this unique tour in north Iceland. Those who love hot spring bathing, but want to try something different, should make sure they book this tour.

Iceland‘s very first beer spa opened in June 2017. The perfect destination for any beer lover, Bjórböðin SPA is located in Árskógssandur in the north of Iceland, close to the town of Akureyri. Since the town of Árskógssandur was already known for its brewery, a beer spa was a logical next step to open up in town to visitors.

In the spa you can soak away the stress of modern life by relaxing in a bath of warm, young beer and live beer yeast. To add to the experience, you can do so with a cold beer in your hand.

The effects of the yeast are very beneficial, with an extremely powerful effect on the body and skin. It is recommended that visitors leave the yeast on their skin to do its magic and that they do not shower for 4 hours afterwards. 

After a 25 minute soak in a private bathtub (that can take one or 2 people), guests are taken to a relaxation area for another 25 minutes. This treatment is both cleansing for the skin and has a very positive effect on health.

Note that the beer in the tub is undrinkable, but there is a draft beer tap alongside every hot tub, for visitors aged 20 and over (the legal drinking age in Iceland). If you are aged over 20, you can help yourself to a cold drink while you bathe.

There is also an outside beer hot tub for bigger groups and a new restaurant with beer-related food on site.
