Description

This small-group tour begins when you are picked up from your Reykjavik hotel at the time most convenient for you. You'll meet your experienced guide and the rest of your traveling group.

After that, you will reach the area where you can start your hike toward the active volcano. Your guide will lead you first through Geldingdadalur, where this same volcano erupted throughout much of 2021. You'll be able to take in the sights of black, twisted lava that is some of the newest lava on earth and can still be hot to touch.

After passing the previous eruption site, you will see the current eruption in Meradalur and witness a real and active volcanic eruption.
