Description

Explore the South Coast to Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach in one day.

This is a  private luxury day tour with knowledgeable guides who will ensure your comfort and safety during your dream tour!  You will explore beautiful places such as waterfalls and black sand beaches as well as glaciers and volcanoes. You will learn about the nature in Iceland, history, and culture - all while driving along the South Coast in a luxury 4x4 jeep.

The first highlights of the tour will be Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, mesmerizing waterfalls. Then you will visit Sólheimajökull glacier tongue, one of Iceland's most easily accessible glaciers, located just off the main road. An easy walking path takes you close to the glacier where you can admire S´öolheimaj0kull's amazing colors and ice formations.

Next on the agenda will be the picturesque fishing village of Vík and neighboring black beaches and sea stacks.  As you continue to drive further south, you will travel along lava fields as well as spectacular scenery on your way to Skaftafell and Vatnajökull National Parks, where you will get a chance to see a glacier from up close.

Your final destination is the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon with its floating icebergs and the Diamond Beach. There will be a time to walk around and explore the area, taking photographs. You might want to explore this natural wonder even more and add an amphibian boat ride on the Glacier Lagoon. Please note that this is not included in the price and need to be booked in advance: available May - October.

In this private tour, you will have time to enjoy each destination, and we will make stops for lunch and dinner.  Last but not least, you will make extra stops to see waterfalls, glacier tongues, and canyons according to the weather and the timing. You will then be accompanied back to Reykjavik. If you take the tour in the winter (September-March), you might be lucky enough to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights on the way back to Reykjavik, weather permitting.

Good to know

The weather in Iceland can be quite unpredictable. Occasionally, especially during winter, the tour itinerary might be altered if weather and road conditions are unfavorable.

In the winter (November to February), due to limited daylight hours in Iceland in the winter, much driving will be done in the dark. While we do our best to make sure you have a great experience of the main attractions, some sites might be visited in dusk or darkness, or even skipped.
