This is a private photography tour with a professional landscape photographer. A day tour starting in the Reykjavik area to the South coast to the village of Vík. This day tour offers some of the most photogenic places in Iceland and many beautiful locations in the area. The main focus of this tour is starting at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, a well-known tourist attraction that offers good photo opportunities all year round. Another great location is the famous Skógafoss waterfall which often has a rainbow in front, depending on the time of day. Close to Skógafoss is a less visited location which has a beautiful waterfall hidden inside a canyon.
Driving further east we come to the Dyrhólaey peninsula, a rocky outcrop on the coast of the Atlantic. From late April to late August you can see Puffins here and have a great view to the black beach Reynisfjara and the sea stacks Reynisdrangar in the distance. A big rock arch reaches into the ocean on the south part of Dyrhólaey. Next stop will be the black beach of Reynisfjara and its beautiful basalt columns and a closer view to the Reynisdrangar sea stacks. This location is known for unpredictable waves and people are urged to take special care on the beach. From Reynisfjara we drive to the beautiful village of Vík which is as far as we go in this day tour on the South coast. One of the iconic spots in Vík is the church on the hill, overlooking the small village and the black sand beach with a different view to Reynisdrangar sea stacks.
You have the opportunity to see puffins from end of April til late August, magnifficent sea cliffs, black sand beaches, glaciers and magnificent canyons cutting into the highlands below the glacier Mýrdalsjökull. IN the area you have great locations for sunsets and sunrises, for example the Reynisdrangar sea-stacks and Dyrhólaey peninsula. In Vík you have great restaurants with local food and various hotels and guesthouses.
If some of the main roads are closed in winter due to weather conditions, the tour itinerary will be changed accordingly.
