Join this small group 4x4 jeep tour to the fantastic South Coast of Iceland and get a better and a more personal experience than you would have on a big bus tour.
After being picked up in Reykjavík, you will head east from the city to the country's fantastic South Coast which is filled with cascading waterfalls, mighty glaciers and stretches of black sand beaches.
Your first stop is Seljalandsfoss waterfall which is part of the Seljalandsá River that originates in the glacier volcano Eyjafjallajökull. The volcano famously erupted in 2010 and halted all air traffic for a few days. If the weather allows, you can walk behind Seljalandsfoss into a small cave and view the stunning countryside from behind the falling water.
Next up is Skógafoss, one of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls. It is also one of the country's biggest, with a drop of 60-metres and a width of 25 metres.
From there you will visit the beach of Reynisfjara where you will get the chance to walk on the jet black sand and view Reynisdrangar which are 66-metre basalt sea stacks that rise out of the ocean like terrifying trolls.
After that, you will go up close to a fast melting glacier called Sólheimajökull. It is a glacier tongue from the larger Mýrdalsjökull glacier, Iceland's fourth largest glacier.
You will also get to visit the cape Dyrhólaey and see the spectacular oceanview which, in the summer, often contains puffins. There are puffin colonies all over Iceland, but Dyrhólaey provides you with the best chance to spot them on the South Coast. At Dyrhólaey, you can also see a beautiful rock arch which has been carved by the ocean over the centuries.
So don't wait! Book now and discover the fantastic South Coast on this small group jeep tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
Short, easy walks on the sites visited. It is recommended dressing warmly because the weather in Iceland can change in a matter of minutes.
