Zip through Reykjavík on an electric scooter for a unique sightseeing experience. This tour should not be missed by those who want to see the sites of Iceland's capital during a unique adventure.
You will meet your guides at one of Reykjavík's most beautiful sites, Harpa, the city's concert hall and conference centre. They'll have your electric scooter and helmet ready and, after a quick briefing, you'll mount up, and set off.
The sites you will see are manifold. You'll start with the Old Harbour, where you can see many beautiful boats and attain some great views across Faxaflói Bay to sites such as Mount Esja, and in clear weather, the Reykjanes and Snæfellsnes Peninsulas.
You will then head to the downtown area. Here are some of Reykjavík's oldest streets, and its most important sites such as its cathedral and its parliament called the Alþing. The Alþing is the world's oldest ongoing parliament, having its roots in Þingvellir National Park as far back as 930 AD.
You'll then nip through the shopping street of Laugavegur, carefully avoiding the locals and travellers perusing the bars, restaurants and boutiques. As you travel, you'll notice the city's charming architecture, notably its colourful tin roofs.
Your next destination is Hallgrímskirkja, Reykjavík's most iconic and well-known landmark. Atop a hill, it's renowned for its scale and design, being inspired by Icelandic nature and folklore, particularly the basalt columns found around the waterfall Svartifoss and the hammer of the Old Norse God Þór, known internationally as Thor.
As you travel, your guide will tell you all about the sites you see, the culture of Iceland, and the nature of the city. Any questions that you have, they will be more than happy to answer for you.
