You will begin your day driving out of Reykjavík into the city's charming surrounding countryside. Soon, you will leave the main road, entering the region of Kjós ("The Shelter of the Mountains"). This area has a long history, and is a favourite spot among adventurous locals, looking for some respite.

On the way, you will make an insightful stop by a horticulture farm; here, you will meet the pioneers behind the Icelandic local food market and witness firsthand the surprisingly bountiful harvest of crops that are grown in the region.

After your time at the farm is over, you will continue crisscrossing your way towards the sublime coastline of Hvalfjörður. When you arrive at Hvalfjörður, you will make a visit to a local sheep farm. This farmstead has been in the same family for generations, meaning you will gain a real insight into traditional agricultural practices, as well as daily country life in Iceland. Here, you will be fed with a delicious meal of local delicacies, before heading to a nearby natural hot pool.
