Family Horse-Riding Adventure | Meet on Location
Icelandic horses are so friendly, most who ride them become quite attached to their steed very quickly.
Give your kids the feeling of being a viking settler aback an Icelandic Horse.
This family riding adventure on the Icelandic horse runs throughout the year.
The Icelandic horse stables have a paddock where you can get comfortable with your steed.
Icelandic horses are much smaller than other breeds meaning children can ride them in comfort.
Children six-years-old and up are welcome to join a horse-riding tour.

Join this tour for horseback riding fun for the whole family. No matter what your experience level as a rider, everyone loves the adorable Icelandic horse. Not so tall, the sight of its chubby belly and shaggy hair makes everyone smile. This tour is for anyone who loves animals or is travelling with children.

The tour group is limited to 20 or fewer people in order to ensure the best experience for your family. You will be able to receive more personal attention from your guide and truly enjoy your surroundings as you ride.

The whole family can enjoy a half hour’s riding tour on comfortable riding tracks in the vicinity of the riding centre. The Icelandic horse is a gentle breed, and there are many calm horses here for children and inexperienced riders. At the riding centre, there are also dogs, cats and rabbits for everyone to enjoy, as well as a children’s corner with farm related toys.

Children under the age of 6 will be led by rein in a paddock at a discounted rate. This is a perfect opportunity to catch a photo of your family with these very special horses.

The Icelandic people feel very protective of their horses after the breed was nearly destroyed by a volcanic eruption which swept the southern coast in the 1780s. These horses are descended from the horses which were brought over from Norway by the first settlers in the 9th century.

Please note that at least one adult needs to stay behind with a young child at the Riding Centre. After your ride, enjoy a cup of complimentary coffee, tea or hot chocolate to celebrate the day.

Don't miss out on this fun activity for every member of the family. Check availability by choosing a date.
