Description

Explore the popular Fimmvorduhals hiking trail by booking this incredible guided tour. Those up for an exciting adventure taking in some of the most spectacular nature that Iceland is famous for should book this tour now.

You'll start your hike at Skogafoss waterfall, where you'll meet your tour guide. From here, you'll make your way along the Fimmvorduhals hiking trail, one of the most popular routes in Iceland, to Thorsmork.

Experienced local guides who know the landscape well will lead you on this guided hike. They'll provide instructions on how to best tackle the terrain and ensure you're safe and comfortable throughout the trek.

The hike is around 15 miles (25 kilometers) and can be pretty challenging in places, so you will need a good fitness level. You also need to be prepared for a full day on your feet, so some hiking experience is ideal.

Skogafoss waterfall is a must-see attraction in Iceland. It's not the biggest waterfall in the country, but it's undoubtedly one of the most beautiful.

The constant drizzle from the waterfall means that you can often see rainbows above it, making for an awe-inspiring sight. A trail here takes you to the top of the waterfall so you can take pictures from above.

From there, the hike continues upwards along the trail. There are more waterfalls to see on the way, as well as icy landscapes and lava fields.

As you continue, you'll trek between the Eyjafjallajokull glacier volcano and the Myrdalsjokull glacier.

The Eyjafjallajokull glacier is the sixth largest glacier in Iceland, while Myrdalsjokull is the fourth largest. Mydralsjokull is also home to the infamous Katla volcano.

You will then visit two new volcanic craters, Magni and Modi, located between the glaciers. The 2010 volcanic eruption of Eyjafjallajokull formed these craters, from which steam continues to rise.

You will also see stunning vistas of the surrounding glaciers and the Thorsmork valley, some of the most spectacular scenery in the Icelandic highlands.

Following traversing these two volcanic craters, you will continue toward your final destination, Thorsmork.

Thorsmork, or the Valley of Thor, is a beautiful and diverse nature reserve in the highlands of Iceland. Glacier rivers and lush green vegetation form a contrasting, breathtaking landscape.

You can camp here and continue your adventures, or your guide will transport you back to the tour's meeting point.

Experience one of Iceland's most scenic hiking trails with this epic 10-hour Fimmvorduhals hiking tour. Check availability now by choosing a date.
