Golden Circle Under The Midnight Sun | Sightseeing Tour
The Golden Circle is Iceland's most popular sightseeing route.
There is lots of room at Thingvellir to park and explore the various trails and attractions.
It is possible to walk right alongside the exposed, North American tectonic plate.
The mighty Gullfoss water drops 32 m over two different tiers.
A long range perspective over Haukadalur Geothermal Valley, home to the hot spring Strokkur.
Haukadalur Geothermal Valley is famed for its hot springs, volcanic mud pools and steaming fumaroles.

Experience the true magic of an Icelandic midsummer with this fantastic Golden Circle sightseeing tour, discovering three of the country's most beloved attractions under the soft glow of the Midnight Sun. This is the perfect tour opportunity for travellers looking to experience the very best of Iceland's sights, as well as those looking to maximise their time in the country.

The tour starts at Hamragarður at Gljúfrabúi, the tour operator's base by Road 249. You will then head directly to one of the most beloved waterfalls on the South Coast, Seljalandsfoss. This is a rare example of an Icelandic waterfall that can be walked behind, making for some fantastic and unique photos. When your time appreciating the waterfall is over, it's time for your next stop,  Þingvellir National Park.

Þingvellir is Iceland's only UNESCO World Heritage site, a title it holds for a number of reasons. First of all, this is where visitors can see both the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates standing exposed from the earth—a rare geological treat! It is also where the world's first democratically elected parliament, the Althingi, was formed in the year 930 AD.

You will then continue onwards to Haukadalur Geothermal Valley, an area famed for its steaming fumaroles, volcanic vents and the spouting hot spring, Strokkur. Strokkur erupts routinely every five to ten minutes, blasting hot jets of water over twenty meters into the air! Make sure to have your camera ready—this is going to be a moment you won't want to miss.

Next, it's the "Golden Falls", Gullfoss Waterfall, the third and final attraction on the Golden Circle sightseeing route. Icelanders call Gullfoss "The Queen of all Waterfalls", thanks to it being so incredibly majestic and beautiful. Here, water cascades a total of 32 metres, creating enormous clouds of mist that only heighten the attraction's incredible ambience.

Don't delay any longer and you too can join this brilliant Golden Circle sightseeing route, all undertaken under the mysterious, glorious Midnight Sun. Check availability by choosing a date.
