See the wonders of Þórsmörk Valley on this Super Jeep excursion and immerse yourself in the nature of Iceland. If you are a keen hiker with an affiliation for mountains, glaciers and volcanoes, this is the tour for you.

Your adventure begins in Reykjavík, where you will be picked up and driven to your destination of Þórsmörk, a scenic valley with wild forests, stunning canyons and cascading rivers. The valley is considered a national gem by the locals of Iceland and one of the most popular hiking trails in the country.

In the comforts of a modified mountain jeep, prepare to cross territories, unreachable by regular vehicles, before arriving at the camping site of Básar. On your way, you will be treated to a stop at Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, one of the most beloved falls of the country. This cascade has an impressive drop of 60 metres and a cave behind it which you can access for a unique view of Iceland’s South Coast.

After arriving at Básar, you will begin your hike up the Highland route of Fimmvörðuháls and hike through its rough volcanic terrain. The infamous Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano towers over this scene. During your hike, you will witness first-hand the effects of a colossal eruption from 2010 which produced the young craters Móði and Magni.

This hike is rated as challenging, making it all the more rewarding for avid and experienced hikers. Enthusiasts of nature photography should also be satisfied with the incredible scenery of the route, so remember to pack your camera to bring some of Iceland back home with you.

Þórsmörk Valley is truly unique in boasting lush fields of green and muddy, roaring glacier rivers that cut through a desert of black sand. See this natural wonder for yourself and fully grasp why it was named after the thunder god of Norse mythology.

We had an amazing day and the weather held out. We didn't quite make it to the top due to no visibility at that height but instead, we made a loop and came back a different way. The hike is unbelievably beautiful and so worth it! Loved the fact that we came back a different way. It was our guides first time going that route and it is stunning!

We had absolutely beautiful weather so we were able to hike all the way to the top! We were told this is quite rare. Views are breathtaking on the drive in, but even more so while hiking. We had people of different physical abilities and our guide set a brisk pace, so only half of us actually made it to the very top. Others just waited 15 minutes-1 hour along the route. If you are an athlete or hiker it is a fun hike, otherwise it might be challenging.

This was an amazing tour, place and view is beautiful, our guide and driver are very friendly and helpful. We hiked up to the top and the scenery is awesome. We had a wonderful time.

This was an incredibly beautiful tour. The time to arrive on site is about 3 hours, the last hour or so is slow travel through a valley with plenty of shallow river crossings, holes, rocks, and bumps. This probably wouldn't be enjoyable for anyone prone to car sickness. We couldn't make the two craters we intended to visit due to dangerous winds (50+ mph), but the views and hike were still magnificent. Due to our shortened main hike, we went on another small hike in another location on the way back, also with incredible views. We also stopped at a waterfall briefly while the guide reinflated the tires for the ride back. The main hike is fairly steep and strenuous.

Wow, what an amazing tour, what amazing place and view. Our group was made out of people with very different levels of fitness, yet our guide managed to keep us together and everyone completed the hike. We couldnt hike up to the top as it was still covered in snow (in May) and it was considered unsafe by our guide. As a bonus, on our way back we stopped to inflate the tyres and I managed see the Gljufrabui waterfall - which I read about but couldnt locate it untill we drove past it in the morning. Fantastic day, and tour
