Private South Coast Tour takes you on an amazing adventure. If there would be 1 tour to show you the true beauty of Icelandic nature – it would be this one. We will make it a day to remember.

Hellisheiði – Drive On Top Of An Active Volcano – Hengill

After free pick up, we will drive on road no 1 toward the south of Iceland. Since the moment we leave Reykjavik behind, you will be greeted with wild lava landscapes. Literally, the city ends, wilderness begins. Your noses will be glued to the window looking at the amazing lunar scenes. We will be passing through an active volcano Hengill, where Hellisheiði Power Station is located. The whole area is spitting columns of steam into the air. You can definitely tell something is going on under this mountain and being an eyewitness to this untamed force of nature would be a great memory for you!

Hveragerði

The first stop will be in Hveragerði. At the local bakery, you can get freshly brewed coffee (or tea) and some local Icelandic delicacies. In the same building, there is Earthquake Museum where you can experience the trembling ground yourself.  It was built after a big earthquake in 2008 which had its epicenter here. A great addition to this lovely morning!

Seljalandsfoss

After Hveragerði we will drive through Selfoss, Hella and Hvolsvöllur to get to the famously spectacular Seljalandasfoss. This breathtaking waterfall will leave your jaw dropped. You have definitely seen pictures of Seljalandasfoss but nothing beats the experience of getting a little wet when walking behind the falling water!

Skógafoss

Shortly after visiting Seljalandasfoss we will make a stop near another Icelandic gem – The Skógafoss. This waterfall is a completely different beast! A huge amount of water is dropping down with tremendous force forming an everpresent water mist that creates beautiful rainbows. It feels like you can almost touch them.

Vík

We will make another stop in this charming little town. It has plenty to offer. First of all: FOOD! After all that excitement, you probably got hungry! We will stop at a restaurant here where you can buy food and gifts. We will also visit the famous black beach in Vík and if we are lucky, we can encounter some puffins on the cliffs.

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach

This is certainly one of the brightest highlights of this tour. Named one of the top 10 beaches in the whole world by National Geographic, this spectacular location will leave you speechless. Basalt stacks, roaring waves and stunning scenery!

Don't miss out, pick a date to check availability.
