Jump aboard this sightseeing tour of the South Coast, complete with a glacier hike upon Sólheimajökull. This tour is perfect for those eager to see some of Iceland’s most iconic landmarks without missing out on any adventure.

This tour begins when you are picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavík city.

The main road along the South Coast is lined with beautiful features. The first you will come to is a waterfall you can walk all the way around, called Seljalandsfoss. The stream that feeds this falls comes from the notorious glacier and volcano Eyjafjallajökull, which erupted in 2010; you can see this peak on clear days. A little further along is another incredible waterfall, the wider and more powerful Skógafoss. If the weather is especially good, you should also be able to see across the ocean to the Westman Islands.

Your next stop after these waterfalls will be the glacier tongue of Sólheimajökull. Here, you will be provided with all the equipment you need to scale it, told about safety, and then led onto an exhilarating and fascinating glacier hike.

The ice-cap itself looks otherworldly, and the views from it are incredible. There are very few places in the world where ascending a glacier is so accessible; thus you will want a camera in hand to enshrine the memories that you make here.

After enjoying your time on the glacier, you will continue along the South Coast to the beautiful stretch of black sand beach called Reynisfjara. This area is renowned for its strange geology, with the enormous Dyrhólaey arch, with its hexagonal basalt columns, and the sea stacks of Reynisdrangar said to be the remains of two trolls petrified by the sun. If coming in the summer months, this area has a wealth of nesting puffins you can admire.

Once you have appreciated the beauty of this beach, you will return to the bus and enjoy the scenic drive back to Reykjavík.

Do not miss this immersive, small-group tour to the glacier and along the South Coast. Check availability by choosing a date.

Had an amazing day by exploring the south coast of Iceland. Everything was beautiful but we especially liked the hike. The view is impressive and the experience as a whole was a once in a lifetime thing. We felt very safe with the guide as he was knowledgeable and modeled how to do everything. I totally recommend this tour to those who enjoy physical activity and amazing views of nature.

Exceptional experience and would recommend to everyone! The hike was the highlight of the trip, amazing views! Our children 11 and 9 years old coped fine with the hike and enjoyed it as much as we did.

Brilliant tour full of extremely helpful guides. Our tour guide was very informative and full of amazing information about Iceland and its people. Our guide for the glacier hike was entertaining and informative also. The black sand beach was a definite highlight - the contrast of the white snow on the black sand was beautiful - and the waterfalls on the tour were stunning. The pickup and drop off was prompt. Would definitely recommend this tour to everyone.

Fantastic tour. Our guide was exceptional. He had great humour and knowledge. The views were absolutely breathtaking. I could not recommend this tour enough.

Our guide Maggie was wonderful. Gave us a lot of great facts along our drive, got to see two waterfalls, the black sand beach and hike to nearly the top of a glacier. It was one of our favorite tours of our trip and would recommend it to everyone.

This was an amazing experience! I enjoyed every single moment of this tour. Our guides, Mattias and Gumi (sorry if I misspelled your names

With just a couple days in Iceland, I wanted to squeeze in as much as I could, and this tour was the perfect way to do so. We saw so many incredible sites in a short amount of time, though the stops didn't feel rushed. We had plenty of time to explore and really appreciate the natural beauty of Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss and, of course, Sólheimajökull. It was incredibly windy on the glacier, but David, our tour guide, made sure everyone felt safe and secure the entire time. On the drive to each stop, David shared interesting information about the country and answered any questions we had. Stopping by the black sand beach Reynisfjara near sunset was a beautiful way to end to the day, and David's stop to show us the Northern Lights on the way back to Reykjavík was a wonderful surprise. The amount of ground covered and David's expertise made this tour well worth the money.

We picked this tour cause we didn't want to drive on icy roads on december. And that was great cause we were only 11 in a confortable mini bus! It was perfect for us to do the Glacier hiking that we really wanted to do. The hiking was at 3pm so we had time to go to Vik and Reynisfjara and Skógafoss before. Hiking on a glacier is an amazing and incredible experience ! We met the Troll Expeditions guide at the bottom of the glacier. He gave us all the glacier equipment to start the beautiful hiking on Sólheimajökull. Days are very short in December, the moon was rising when we were on top and it was very dark when we went back to the parking. We had a lot of fun and recommend this tour!

This tour was AMAZING. Maggie is an incredible tour guide. Highly recommended!

I picked this particular South Coast + Glacier Hike tour with Troll Expeditions because of the consistent positive reviews of this company both on this site and TripAdvisor. For the tour itself, the driver/guide was good in providing us with interesting information along the way to the various sites. I was saddened that the Glacier Hike part of our tour had to be cancelled because of high wind conditions that day (and therefore I cannot review that section of this tour). Instead, we made one additional stop at Dyrhólaey, and the company was gracious in issuing a partial refund for the cancelled part of the tour. This speaks volumes for this company's philosophy for care about their clients.

This tour was fantastic. Each stop was beautiful from waterfalls, to glacier and on to the two trolls on the black sand beach. Just when I thought I'd seen the best part we'd make another great stop at a spectacular view. Maggie our tour guide was really great. She was passionate, funny and had great music on the tour van. We had a good group around us as well. Thank you!

This is an amazing tour which I would definitely recommend. It was an excellent way to experience the great and wild landscapes of Island: waterfalls, beaches, mountains, glacier,.... We even had some exciting surprise when we went into the waterfall: that’s was unique !. But the best was the motivation and professionality of our guide: thanks a lot Magga for such an special experience and for teaching us so many things about your country. And thanks also to the guide on the Glacier!.

This tour, apart of being amazing, taught me a lot about Sólheimajökull. The Glacier is alive and it's melting at a constant rate 'cause of global warming. Gumi (i hope that's written ok) was great, teaching the group a lot about the glacier and making the whole tour great with various jokes and sarcastic inputs. Simply amazing. he even took a bite of some peruvian chocolate we had and liked it. Now you know, the guys at Troll Expeditions are awesome, so this is a tour you have to take.

We were very positively suprised that you have connected 2 trips into one which was very interesting and nice experience. We were positively surprised by engagement of the guide. She was very engaged in her job and pass this positive approach to the team. We highly recomend Troll company as your guides.

Freaking amazing. My favorite tour and my favorite day. My tour guide was a born and raised Icelandic, so it was cool to hear him talk about life as a local and not your typical text book history sound bites. We got to see so many places and I was satisfied with the amount of time spent at each place. The glacier hike was my favorite! I highly recommend and thank you for everything, Gumi! You're amazing!!

Excellent experience. Our travel guide, Odurr

The beautiful South coast! This area is so stunning that I can't even describe it! The glacier hike was the highlight of my trip. I highly recommend this trip!

Perfect day, perfect guide, perfect tour. Thanks!

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Iceland, Kristjand our tour guide was amazing and help us all the way including stoping in a cheaper supermarket to allow us to buy better groceries at the end of our trip. Kudos to him and to Troll workers. My daughter left behind her rain coat and pants and they send it to our hotel the next day. Very happy to recommend this tour operator to all visitors.

Amazing day spent travelling the South Coast of Iceland.. Even managed to steer my wife up a glacier which she loved in the end. Oddur was a quality tour guide as he guided us through this wonderous landscape, from lava caves and waterfalls through to the glacier hike with his "brother" (still not sure) with Icelandic music, Sigur Ros in particular a soundtrack for most of the trip.. Highly recommended 5* effort from Tröll Expeditions. Mark + Nathalie

5 star experience with troll expositions! Perfect tour, perfect tour guide, perfect experience. The best day so far in iceland!

David was an amazing tour guide!! I only had basically 24 hours in Iceland, and this honestly made the quick stopover perfect!! the waterfalls were gorgeous, and I loved the secret gem! The glacier hike was so cool and we biked out to see the plane wreck. Thanks for an amazing tour David!! 100% would recommend

A GREAT tour. Tour around the South Coast of Iceland is really fantastic. The waterfalls were great especially the secret stop we made. The black sand beach is truly one of a kind, and the glacier hike was really fun. I would easily recommend Troll Expedition.

Thank you Tröll Expeditions for a very well set up day, this was the highlight of all of the tours we have been on in Iceland. The glacier is beautiful and the guides are very safety minded, making sure that the level of fitness would suit the whole group. When mixing activities and sightseeing you get to explore Iceland in a mix of ways. We look forward to visiting again and hopefully try Ice Climbing that time.

WOW! What a time to be alive! I went on this tour with my friend and to be honest, it made our trip in Iceland! This amazing nature, those waterfalls and the black sand beach. This is something you can't even imagine, you have to see it for yourself. Last but not least, the glacier - sun world glacier, the hike was unbelievable! We had never hiked a glacier before but this was so worth it. Our guide was incredible and really friendly. He made our tour one of the best ever! THANK YOU!

My name partner in crime, David the tour guide, is the best! :) Two beautiful waterfalls, a glacier and a beach that has black sand! There is nothing that can beat that. Highly recommended!

I had the best day ever. This tour is definitely worth booking! I had a very energetic and funny guide. She was very knowledgeable about all the landmarks we went to and she even told us the best places to take pictures which was great! We got to see an extra waterfall, Glufrabui I think it's called. It was definitely the best waterfall ever! The high point of the day was the glacier hike, it's an experience I will never forget, 120% recommend!!

We had a great time in this tour with Mike. Even though he is not a native Icelander he truly knows the Icelandic nature. The South Coast of Iceland is a great place, the photos we got from this tour were one of a kind. Mike took us to all the best places. He is a very skilled glacier guide we felt very safe during our adventure.

Really amazing and memorable trip with our guide Mike. We were picked up at 8:30 at our hotel. Our first stop, Seljalandsfoss, was beyond words. We were able to walk behind the waterfall. Mike also took our picture at the waterfall with his DSLR camera. Following this waterfall, he had asked if we wanted an extra stop and took us to, Gljufrabui, which is a waterfall inside of what I can only describe as a cave with walls of moist moss surrounding us in all directions while we felt the power of the waterfall as it literally feel about 15 feet in front of us. We then went to Skogarfoss which was also fantastic. It's huge and Mike told us it was 60 meters tall and fed by a Glacier. Our Glacier hike lived up to all the hype. Not only was Mike taking the time to make sure our safety equipment was properly fitted, but also cracked some jokes while he was at. The tour itself was very through and we went to a few different locations. As an added bonus, Mike took us to his favorite spot "The Blue Abyss" and, after putting down some safety gear, let us look into this 150 foot hole in the Ice. I was literally at a loss for words. Before going home, we went to the Black Sand Beach and learned about the Basalt columns from Mike. This was an Epic tour which I could recommend to all of my friends. You will not be disappointed and make sure to ask for Mike, "The American Troll".

Awesome trip whit a fantastic tour guide Palli! Best day ever. Highly recommend it! Everything was perfect!

It is very cool. The best trip I've never had in my life! The iceberg, the waterfall and all the view I have seen in this trip. I have no idea before I climbed the iceberg, but after I did that, it's became one of the most beautiful things in my memory and also in my life. The best memory of Iceland.

Did this tour with Mike. It was awesome! Mike is so funny and kind and knowledgeable. We went to beautiful spots, but Mike's personality was really what made this tour excellent. Also the glacier hike was so so cool. Would 100% do again.

Super excited! We are really a small group but have three friendly and kind guides. The glacier is so exciting that I would definitely recommend this expedition! Good sight seeing and nice friends, everything is perfect. I would highly recommend it.

It was a wonderful experience! We were so lucky to have Sigga as our guide. She's such a professional, friendly and funny local friend. Laughter is all around our private trip. Seeing waterfalls and walking on Glacier are the most worthwhile experience ever. We'd love to have loads of fun with them again.

This was an amazing experience. You technically get to see 3 waterfalls. One is a "secret" waterfall at one of the other locations. Definitely make sure you have water proof boots on so you can walk in the water to see the amazing view! I guess it was a long drive but it didn't seem too bad as most of the trip I was talking to our guide Mike. He was absolutely amazing! The Glacier Hike seemed scary but was the best experience ever! The views from the top of the glacier are just breath taking! The black sand beach was incredible just be careful of the power of those waves! Best tour I have been on here in Iceland and Mike at Tröll has been the best guide! A must do for anyone coming to visit!

The guide was rude to one of the guests on a number of occasions.
