Join this tour which is full of adventure, local history, and gorgeous natural scenery. If you are someone who loves a bit of challenge combined with easy hiking and dash of folklore, then this zipline tour is for you.
The trip starts at the village of Vík, and there you'll get dressed in all the safety equipment needed to keep you safe throughout the journey. From there it's a short drive to where the hiking starts and after around 15 minutes walk on soft Icelandic grass, you'll reach the first zipline. This one is named 'The Gentle Giant', it’s 230 meters long and passes a breathtaking waterfall.
When everyone has conquered their fear at the first zipline, you'll carry on hiking down by the river, between cliffs, and inside small caves. There, we have to cross the river to reach the second zipline. At this zipline-jump, your trust factor is challenged as it is called 'The Leap of Faith'.
From there, and to the second zipline, 'Little Rush', it is only a short hike. This line is 130 meters and a bit faster and steeper than 'The Gentle Giant'. It takes you over two joining canyons and a waterfall. When everyone has reached the end, you will have a nice 20-minute walk by the old highway back to Vík where you can take off the gear and part ways with your guides.
Get to know Icelandic nature in a whole new way with this fun-filled, family-friendly tour. Whiz through the air on a zipline and see the beauty of this land of ice and fire. Check availability by choosing a date.
If you have long hair it’s recommended to braid it so it won't fly away and get tangled in the lines.
Our zipline track was set up by a European company and certified by an impartial third party and the strictest EU regulations. It is set up to have minimal effect on nature around us, and sometimes we have to alter the track a little bit depending on how the weather has been behaving the previous days. We walk in a single line, so our footprints leave a very little mark on our spectacular nature.
