Golden Circle Minibus Tour | Full Day Excursion

Golden Circle Minibus Tour | Full Day Excursion

Hop on board a minibus for the essential Iceland experience: a tour of The Golden Circle. This journey will take you on a ride to Iceland’s most famous attractions, without the rush and hassle of the big buses. This tour is for those who wants to immerse themselves in Icelandic culture; you will not only see main sights, you will also get to know Icelandic music and cuisine. The tour starts in the morning when you are picked up by a small but comfortable minibus. You’ll then be driven to the south of Iceland to a little, hidden treasure called Faxi waterfall. Nestled in a quiet spot, not visible from the main road, Faxi is a low but wide waterfall, named after the mane of the Icelandic horse. From the little Faxi, you’ll head towards the enormous and mighty Gullfoss. The glacial river Hvítá takes a dramatic 32-metre plunge into a canyon, creating this stunning and beautiful waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic attractions.Next, you will visit the Geysir geothermal area. Located in Haukadalur valley, the ‘Great Geysir’ is a hot spring that’s been active for approximately 10,000 years.Although Geysir is now mostly dormant, nearby is another geyser called Strokkur, which spouts water 10-15 metres up in the air every 10 minutes or so, giving you plenty of opportunities to capture the perfect photo. The last part of the Golden Circle is the Þingvellir national park, a place of great historical and geographical significance. Þingvellir is where Iceland’s parliament, the Alþingi, was founded in the year 930, making it the oldest running parliament in the world. It is also a place where two tectonic plates are drifting apart, which can be seen in the cracks and rock fractions which traverse the region.Along the way, your tour guide will not only tell you everything about the places you'll be visiting, he will also introduce you to Icelandic culture through music and give you samples of traditional Icelandic food and beverages. You’ll listen to some of Iceland’s best musicians while travelling the Golden Circle. If you like the music, you’ll be able to find it right away on Spotify with the free wifi on board the minibus. This way you can relive the experience when you get back home.Don’t miss out on a unique and first-hand introduction to Iceland through this fascinating day tour! Reserve your place on this cosy minibus tour and go hunting for the Northern Lights in the company of new friends! This tour is for anyone who has ever admired pictures of the Northern Lights and wished they could run away to Iceland. You’ll finally see them yourself on this special evening. With a small group, you can have your own communion with nature, and ask your guide all the questions you have. You’ll be picked up at your accommodation and whisked off to the country away from the noise and bright lights of Reykjavik, allowing you to hunt for the Northern Lights in the silence and darkness of the Icelandic winter. You’ll be outside in the elements while you hunt for the Aurora, so be sure to bundle up and wear your favourite woollen socks. Your tour guides will help to keep you warm with a supply of hot chocolate and ginger biscuits.Remember that although they are fascinating, the Lights are also unpredictable: the Aurora Forecast in Iceland gives a likelihood every day of where they may be found, but sightings cannot be guaranteed. If you are unlucky and don’t spot any Northern Lights on your tour, you can book yourself another night - for free! The Northern Lights can be white, blue, green, pink or even red. These colours are caused by particles from solar winds slamming into the earth’s magnetic field. When these charged particles hit the oxygen-rich atmosphere, they react with the different chemicals and burst into glorious colour!Don’t miss this brilliant display of natural wonder. Snaefellsnes National Park | Small Group Day Tour

Snaefellsnes National Park | Small Group Day Tour

Jump aboard this captivating tour to the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Sometimes called ‘Iceland in Miniature’ due to its vast diversity of landscapes, this is the perfect trip for those who seek to capture the true spirit and beauty of this incredible island. This is a small-group minibus tour for a maximum of 19 people, allowing for a comfortable and personal experience. You’ll be picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavík in the morning, then head north-west. While the immediate surrounding scenery will be of rolling farmlands, it will diversify as soon as you reach the peninsula. You will cruise between the beautiful, rocky coast and a long range of mountains to your first destination: the Snæfellsjökull subglacial volcano.Often called ‘the crown jewel of the peninsula’, Snæfellsjökull is a magnificent, cone-shaped volcano adorned with ice throughout the year. Its beauty has inspired writers and artists for centuries, most notably Jules Verne; his novel ‘A Journey to the Centre of the Earth’ is set here. After admiring this incredible natural landmark, you will head to the charming farm of Ytri-Tunga to see its resident seal colony. These creatures, which spend hours hauling out on the shore, are a pleasure to observe, as they lazily sun themselves with little concern for those observing them. Animal-lovers would do well to keep an eye on the ocean around here too, as Snæfellsnes is one of the best places in the country to spot orcas from the shore. You will next see the charming villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar, which are said to be steeped in magic and folklore. They are located in a lovely coastal area, which is dotted with beautiful rock formations and dramatic cliffs. The most notable of these geological formations are the two basalt columns called Lóndrangar, so tall and striking that many have compared them to a castle. Near these, you will have a chance to wander along a gorgeous black beach, Djúpalónssandur, the cliffs of which are home to many nesting seabirds. At Djúpalónssandur, you’ll find a curiosity on the beach: four large, smooth stones. They are ‘lifting stones’, once used to measure the strength of fishermen who worked and lived along the coasts here. Your guide will tell you what each was called, and you can see how well you would have risen to the challenge of moving them.Your final stop will be at the most photographed mountain in all of Iceland. Kirkjufell rises alone from a sea of green hills and wildflowers, surrounded by trickling rivers and little waterfalls; it is without a doubt one of the most scenic areas in the country. You’ll want to have your camera on hand when exploring this beautiful feature. The Snæfellnes peninsula is one of the country’s most beautiful spots. Don’t miss your opportunity to see 'Iceland in Miniature'. Check availability by choosing a date.

Whale Watching Tour from Reykjavik

Whale Watching Tour from Reykjavik

Jump aboard this whale-watching excursion to see the incredible wealth of marine wildlife just off Reykjavík’s shores. This tour is a must for nature-lovers, and fits perfectly into a busy holiday; you leave straight from the capital city’s Old Harbour and return approximately three hours later. You will arrive at the harbour in good time for your departure, either by making your way there yourself or through a pick-up you can request during booking. If taking this trip during summer, you will have a choice between two boats, which you can select based on your sense of adventure and the nature of your group. The first vessel, and the only one operated year-round, is one of the largest whale-watching boats in Iceland. It has a fantastic educational and interactive focus on board, where you can learn more about the whales, as well as a café.The second vessel is one of our newest additions to the fleet, a fast-cruising catamaran. It promises to get you to the prime whale-watching location in just twenty minutes so that you can immerse yourself in the activity immediately. These express tours are only available during the summer months. Trips on this tour are approximately an hour shorter. On the first boat, you will spend roughly three hours out on the ocean looking for whales (approx. two hours on the second). As you travel out, your guide will point out the natural features surrounding the capital; in clear weather, you should be able to see both the Reykjanes Peninsula and the Snæfellsnes peninsula, as well as the ‘whale fjord’, otherwise called Hvalfjörður. Four species can be regularly seen on these tours: harbour porpoises, white-beaked dolphins, Minke Whales and Humpback Whales. It is not at all unheard of, however, to see orcas (or killer whales), pilot whales, Fin Whales, and even Basking Sharks. On top of these incredible animals, during summer you can expect to see a wealth of seabirds, most notably including the puffin. Your experienced guides can answer any questions you have as you hunt for and marvel over these majestic creatures. Each tour yields entirely different results. The animals’ behaviour change throughout the day; you might catch them breaching, socialising, feeding or just basking near the surface. If by chance, you are not lucky enough to see a marine mammal, you will have another opportunity to take this tour for free until you do.You will return to Reykjavík after three hours on the sea, hopefully after many exciting sightings and an up-close look at some of Iceland’s marvellous creatures. Because of the convenience and length of this tour, there will still be plenty of opportunities to make the most of the rest of your day, either on another tour or within the capital.Do not miss your chance to see the magnificent whales, dolphins and porpoises of Iceland. Set sail into Faxaflói bay for your opportunity. Check availability by choosing a date.

Drysuit Snorkelling Tour in Silfra

Drysuit Snorkelling Tour in Silfra

Dive into this drysuit snorkelling tour of Silfra fissure in Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Conducted at the edge of Þingvallavatn, the largest natural lake in Iceland, this tour is sure to enthral and mesmerise you! You'll have an unforgettable view down into the depths below, thanks to the silvery water which gives Silfra its name. The water is so clear, you'll be able to see as far as 100 m (almost 330 ft) down, to the shadowy caves that are formed by centuries of earthquakes widening the fissure and releasing the pressures of the earth's crust. It's the only place on earth where you can swim between a meeting place of worlds: the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Witness the strength and power of the land as you drift on the current. Plants resembling troll hair grow on the rocks, floating in the water, and you'll see many shades of green and yellow algae.Silfra was recently ranked #15 on the World's Best Dive Sites, chosen by CNN News. With this tour, you can experience the mysteries below without being a fully qualified diver, and make a fun afternoon of it while you enjoy the national park. There are also several walking trails around Silfra if you'll like to enjoy the scenery by the water.Because you're wearing a drysuit, you'll view Silfra from the surface while the slow current carries you through a stunning underwater landscape. You stay dry underneath the drysuit, and you'll be warmer in the water, which is usually around 2–4 °C (36–39 °F).It's so cold because it is meltwater from Langjökull glacier, filtered through porous lava rock for as much as 100 years before finally flowing into the fissure at the height of purity. Go ahead, take a sip!Don't miss your chance for a refreshing dip in the purest water on earth! Check availability by choosing a date.
