Get ready for an icy adventure with this ultimate winter combination. On this affordable tour, you get to explore a naturally formed ice cave and go on a glacier walk on the Svínafellsjökull glacier tongue.

Your adventure begins in Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park where you will check in at the sales desk, meet your guide and get geared up with proper glacier equipment for your tour. When you are ready to go, you can hop into your mini-bus which will take you to Svínafellsjökull glacier. The drive only takes about 10 minutes, but in the meantime, you can enjoy the mountain scenery, formed by volcanic eruptions and glacial erosion.

At the glacier, your guide will teach you how to use the glacier gear and give you a safety orientation. Then it's time to step onto the ice and start your hike. Your guide will lead you through a frozen world of deep crevasses, ice formations and brilliant blue colours. You may recognise the glacial landscape from Hollywood movies such as Batman Begins and Interstellar. During the hike, your guide will educate you about the behaviour of glaciers and how they affect the surrounding nature.

Then it's time to visit the ice cave. The cave that you will visit was formed by water running under the glacier. In the winter, the water freezes over and leaves behind a glacier tunnel of deep blue ice. The cave has been made accessible by the highly trained and qualified glacier guides, and they will ensure your safety and enjoyment during your tour.

In the cave, you will get enough time to get the photos you need, and your guide will be most happy to take your picture. During the stop, they will also tell you more about the formations of these ice tunnels.

Don't miss out on this two-for-one winter opportunity. Check availability by choosing a date.
